Has anybody had a Scottish Provident endowment mature this year. I have one that is due in December. Should have paid out £54000. Lowest estimate £38000 highest £41000. Not sure if this includes terminal bonus or not ?
Just an update. Received paperwork to sign and final maturity value.
They say it might go up or down if there are any major developments within the fund/investment markets.
Target £54000
Sum assured £17766
Previous bonuses £13720
Final bonus £18577
Total £50063
Considering they kept saying there could be a very large deficit I am glad that I continued paying. Started as a low start endowment in 1988, averaged £68 over 25yrs
Total payments £20400
I think I have done well considering.0 -

I posted earlier #2 and #47
My final endowment matures May 2014 and final bonus rate has recently been confirmed so numbers are as follows.
This is for a commercial union homemaker started in 1998:
Total correct but split rough as numbers not to hand!!
Target £73,000
Sum assured and bonuses £49,000
Final bonus (22%) £10,000
Mortgage promise £9,800
Total £69,000. :T
So, not a bad result.0 -
22% Final Bonus is quite a bit down on the 32% you might have been hoping for in #2 and doesn't bode well for those with another 4yrs to go.
Continuing with the recent regular bonuses a 22% Final bonus would leave mine* 30% down including the MEP
*also a CU Homemaker.0 -
Sorry I may of stated incorrect data in post 2!
I think I was talking about the difference between what the yearly paperwork said and what info I got when I phoned them up! When I phoned them I got info in the bonus and mortgage promise.
Anyway, from memory final bonus was about 22% end of 2012, mid 2013 it dropped to about 16% and now is 22%. So not too bad.
Seems to fluctuate occasionally!
Sadly you have to play the waiting game. The one that matured last June came in at about 11% but 6 months earlier was 16%....... Now back up to about 15% I think.0 -

Hi caseywhite
I would be interested to know the results of your Royal London Policy. I have one that also matures in December 2013 which I took out in 1989.
I did have a Policy on track green letter and I have called them to ask about a terminal bonus. They said that its not guaranteed but they do normally pay one out. I also have been told its a low start endowment and not a unitised plan. Hoping I get a bit more than the target amount of £40K0 -
According to FTAdviser, a 25 year £50 per month endowment with Royal London returned £30 785 in February 2014. This includes a 18.9% terminal bonus.0
