anyway enough... thanks to those who helped me with my question0
-
Because it's written on the page. I agree it's not automatically included in the total, but for me that's because it's an optional extra.
I'm sorry you feel that this isn't a "nice" forum, but you have to appreciate that 95% of posts here are from people who didn't read the terms of what they signed up for. If you think this place is nasty you should try the house price forum, or the discussion time forums.
ARG but it ISN'T written on the page.. I managed to book the whole thing without it being written on the page I was on, becsaue I didn't go to room description !
and so what if 95 % of complaints are from people who diden't go to such pages as 'room description'.. that gives people the right to be nasty to othwrs does it? If people don't want to answer the question, then fair enough, don't.. but I don't see why you have to be rude jsut becasue you think you know better...
heh I don't think I want to actually look out nasty sites thanks0 -
oh and how is a bed for a child over six an 'optional extra'? Is it an optional extra for a child of 12 too becuse I believe a 'child' is .still considered a child at that age...0

Look, I completely agree with what you are saying regarding the costing, I just disagree that it isn't transparent.
You concede that you didn't click on the 'show info' tab where the advisor that an additional bed would cost £25 was present. It gets back to my point on clicking on everything, and reading everything prior to handing over your payment details.
I'm sorry if you think I'm being nasty and rude by pointing this out.
Your original post was;nowhere on their site did they mention the extra money. I had also asked other friends online to try and book and see if ther3 was and they confirmed that there is no mention of it.
This is what I commented on, and subsequently you agree that this information is present on their website. That's really the end of the point I'm making.Legal team on standby0 -

It looks like for over 6's its not optional. Does it not say children up to 6 can share room's bedding? That would imply that if you turn up with a 12 year old they will make you pay the £25 to get the extra bed! This is a system account and does not represent a real person. Which is a whole lot cheaper than £85 or whatever for an additional room.
From checking their details on that hotel they only appear to have rooms with a double bed, or two singles. The option for two doubles (ie a common format in other countries) doesn't appear.
If anything that hotel is trying to find a compromise suitable for parents of a young child rather than force them into booking a second expensive room.Legal team on standby0 -
You said he's had a go at you in the past and that it's people like him who are wrong on this site...
I said that maybe if people didn't give him a reaction (which you did, even though you hadn't even posted on the thread), he wouldnt bother attacking! If what you say is right, and I have no idea because I have never been here before, then people like that usually only attack to see what reaction they get!
Nope, sorry, still don't understand this........
If you react to someone, that then justifys them attacking you!?
Is that you are saying?0 -
I saw the small print (which incidentally is different for different hotels in the group), but I inferred that to mean you'd have to pay £25 for a bed for any additional children, not for the one you'd already put on the booking.
I don't understand why a hotel would offer only one double bed when you've clicked to book for 3 people.
It's a poor site.0 -

ARG... does nobody get this ??
I'm not a stupid person by any means. I have booked flights, hotels, holidays, all over the world for years... I have never had a problem with surcharges, extra costs blah blah blah., but I Do have a problem when they aren't up front... trying to save me an extra room??? oh come on!
Let me put it simply, as I see it.
1. If I book two adults and a child over 5 on a flight to , say, America, and get a quote.. I dont' expect (and neither would anyone else) to have to look at smallprint to check whether the quote is for two seats not three.
2. If I book a coach trip for two adults and a child over five, and get a quote, I do not expect to have to look at small print to see if the third seat will be more.
3. If I book a holiday , and I put down for two adults and a child, again, the quote should be for two adults and said child. I should NOT have to look at the smallprint to see if I have to add a load more for the child.
SO if I book a hotel room, for two adults and a child over six.. then I should NOT expect to have to look at the small print to see if they have actually included in the quote, the child that I have already told them about.
IF the child was under six and was small enough to sleep in bed with his/her parents, then maybe you could say it's an 'optional extra'.. even then, optional extras should be made plainly obvious. Children under six in this case go free though, so not an 'optional extra' like my six year old seems to be.
A bed for a child from the age of six to 12 (or whenever a child becomes an adult in the hotel's policy, is NOT an 'optional extra'.. far less so in fact than a baby, who can actually sleep with its parents comfortably in a double bed.
So what I'm trying to say is that, in no way should you HAVE to look at small print to see if you actually got a quote for THREE people that you just booked for,
Next you will have to look at the small print if you book three people to make sure you actually paid for the people at all, and not jsut an empty space, and when you turn up you will have to pay more for each person..
In other words.. they should quote you for beds the amount of people you have booked on their form for, not leave a person out and expect more money for them.0
