It's one of the biggest gripes on MSE that people are caught out by the small print in any transaction and post rants about their experience. The take home message is to read absolutely everything associated with any booking you make online, and check every tab, drop-down or 'more info' button prior to handing over your payment details.

Budget airlines are one of the worst - they commonly have added extras you need to deselect or tabs you need to expand to see what you are actually signing up for.

I'm not sure on this occasion that the hotel were being particularly sneaky about things as it's pretty clear. I do agree however that it would make more sense when you select a child from the drop down menu that it instantly highlights you need to pay extra for another bed.

Well I have never had a problem with budget airlines either. To me, they are FAR more open than this was.

I really still can't understand how you feel that it's pretty clear ... they ask you how many adults, you tell them, they ask you how many children, you tell them, and they give you a quote..... how on earth in anyone's view is it clear that the quote wasn't for the child they just asked about... your logic must be so completely different to mine.

It's almost like saying well there are two adults and one child, so we'll just quote for one adult and then in the smallprint we will say it's going to be more for the other two...

I expect even you would say that's ridiculous !!

And wow, why is everybody so nasty to eachother here.. it really puts me off this site...... Qetu.. why did you make a comment that has nothing at all to do with the question and on a thread that you haven't said a word on before?

You said he's had a go at you in the past and that it's people like him who are wrong on this site...

I said that maybe if people didn't give him a reaction (which you did, even though you hadn't even posted on the thread), he wouldnt bother attacking! If what you say is right, and I have no idea because I have never been here before, then people like that usually only attack to see what reaction they get!

Because it's written on the page. I agree it's not automatically included in the total, but for me that's because it's an optional extra.

I'm sorry you feel that this isn't a "nice" forum, but you have to appreciate that 95% of posts here are from people who didn't read the terms of what they signed up for. If you think this place is nasty you should try the house price forum, or the discussion time forums.
