    LOL. Nice one.:rotfl:

There are places in this world where they have nothing but a blackboard and a empty room and a motivated teacher with no tools except the knowledge she has in his/her head who go on to educate future doctors, engineers.

I suggest you walk into ANY school in any village/town/city in the UK at all age groups and see what many in the world would only dream off.
We have Universties where people come from every corner of the planet to learn, places of excellence that have stood for over 800 years.

    Colleges, further education, open uni,
The onlly problem we have in this country is motivation and a dumbed down effect that has been with us for decades.
There is not a subject out there where you cannot take the first steps to learning in the next few minutes.

Does anyone have any guesses as to what would happen if the UKIP came into power and ceased all immigration?

  • As far as I am aware the UKIP's central policy is withdrawal from Europe. I didnt realise they had anything sensible to say on controlled immigration.

It's difficult to tell as the only time I have seen them in action is on the tele when occasionally some foaming at the mouth late middle aged man will be ranting in Brussels about how they're all foreigners.

It's difficult to take your views very seriously in any case, as you seem to be against all immigration. There is definitely a case for substantially curbing unskilled labour and many countries like Australia have been doing this for years.

We now currently have a much stricter visa regime, which is doing its best to throttle legitimate student visas by lumping them in alongside unskilled chain immigrants.

Anyway its food for thought, next time a blue chip company wants to employ and executive or a top university would like to employ a leading academic from overseas; they should just find an unemployed school leaver instead.

    Great idea.

No, I am NOT against immigration, it is just the UK is full right now.

I fully understand that Britain is a mongrel nation and love that thought, even the Anglo Saxons and Celts that so many far right wingers adore are not even from these shores.

If you want to stereotype every anti immigration person as an ignorant shellsuit wearing sun reading halfwit then that shows your ignorance.

The race card is thrown around in this country far too often when some just want/wanted a slow up in numbers years ago.
When you start getting the likes of Dennis Skinner and Claire Short saying their is a problem and we have gone too far with the number we allow in then we are in trouble.

Millions in the UK going on Polls want something done about too much immigration, it is one of the top reason why people are now switching off to main stream politics, to ignore what people want is in my eyes a dictatorship.

I'm not a member of any organised political party either.

What about the Labour Party then?
  • Maybe the problem is similar to the welfare state, an idea and theology that I think is wonderfull. The trouble is that the majority of people that today use it are the ones that are going to destroy it.
The same with immigration, I can think of cultures and mind sets and beliefs that I think are far better than ours, I can think of endless reason for allowing people from all over the planet to enter our borders, but sadly it has now gone too far and our country is not better for it.

The criteria for immigration needs to be skills-based rather than on geography. Open EU borders to those who refuse to learn English is downright dangerous. Conversley, many in Commonwealth nations have been taught in English but struggle to bring their talents here, whilst Europeans are free to come and go as they please, regardless of what they have to offer.

    Stuff the right time

That is an emotive decision rather than a thought out, considered decision. Its a bit like the 50p tax rate - it has been proven NOT TO WORK.

You can either have useless policies which don't work and don't solve any problems or you can have pragmatic policies which solve problems.

Edit: Just want to add, while the UKIP offers a great deal of sage words on the EU and its policies, this whole notion that "British is best" by virtue of being British is just simply not true. We live in a global work place and compete globally. The sooner people get this stupid idea out of their heads, the better.

I find the whole concept of politics completely pointless.

Party A is in power, and they say we should do X.
Party B has to disagree. They can't sit there and say, "Ooh yes good idea". Even if X was a great idea, it's in Party B's best interests to say it's bad.

For that reason politics in it's entirety is detrimental to everyone and everything.

Have you ever watched a coverage from parliament? It's like a playground argument.

Maybe there is something to be said for these smaller parties.

The first time i saw coverage from the houses of parliament i was amazed at how it works.

The whole system is a joke.

Hopefully the masses will wake up pretty soon.
