Ps bought some socks and slippers while out shopping last night. Isn't it amazing how new socks and slippers can make you feel. A grand total of £9 spent but feeling like a million dollars!

Hi hope you are all well, I haven't managed to catch up on everyones posts as I have been so busy at work. I haven't paid off as much in April as I had hoped but then I did have a holiday and quite a few birthdays and nights out this month. I have started to write out my weekly meal planner and shopping list again as I felt this kept me within my grocery budget, I had let it slip for March and beginning of April but this should get me back on track. Also my OH has started to cycle to work a few days a week so this should cut down on the petrol costs and get him that super fit body to hit the beach in the summer :rotfl:oops just fell off my chair laughing.

A few if my creditors have cleared this month and next month a few more so I really need to start snowballing from May to get these debts cleared.

Anyway I have paid £372.33 today bringing my totals to:

    #259 Total £4026.38/£12,636
:DPay off ALL my debt by Xmas 2012 Challenge
    Paid Jan £1027.83/Feb £917.97/Mar £1353.67/Apr £1367.19
    #259 Total £4643.67/£12,636:D
    :eek:Lose 14lbs in 2012 9/14lbs:eek:
    :TJanuary Grocery Challenge £263.98/£300:T

Suzitiger – ooooh do you specialise in any single type of fitness? Don’t worry I couldn’t give up food! I just found it really interesting that he could do it without being dead after a few days! x

Hahaha I didn't think that you were giving up food!! That would be very extreme, but it is VERY interesting. :)
I teach group fitness classes so similar to the Z word that we all know and love..but the ones I teach are called Just Jh**m and B*kwa. :) the stars are 'o's if you want to google or youtube them to see what they are about :) I am hoping to branch out into personal training though, as I really enjoy what I do.

To everyone asking OH is getting better bit by bit, I think he's better when I'm around as he wants to get up and do things, when I'm out at work he just stays in bed all day.

Back on normal work shift today and tomorrow, out tonight and out tomorrow night, feel bad leaving OH stuck in the house but I need to do things, which includes finding the damn tickets for tomorrow eek!

Hi Fallen, glad that ur OH is getting there. Did you enjoy the gig on thursday?

I probs shouldn't be writing this here (but I'm so excited), I have been accepted on a PGCE place to teach secondary maths and physics at Durham :j:j:j. Going to wait til Tues to hand my notice in tho, cos my line manager isn't back in til then (and I'd rather talk directly to him cos he's been really nice to me). I am moving back in with parents for the summer, and so my new debt-free date should be (fingers crossed) end of August.

WOW Congrats Antonia!! I did a PGCE at Durham, I loved it but teaching wasn't for me :( But the Uni is lovely and you will have a great time, good luck!! There was a Maths guy in the primary department called Tony who's surname I forget but he is awesome, I hope you get taught by him. Yaaaaay so happy for you :T

Right, off to catch up again now, just wanted to put these bits up otherwise my brain explodes trying to remember what i wanted to say to people :rotfl:

This might prove a tad too much for me...i have £30k(rough guess-real total to follow) to plough through.

Unless i can find £4k a month from somewhere this just will not happen this year. I wil give it a go and try to clear at least half so £15k in 7 months, here i go :)

Welcome to the gang young Businessman, good luck with all your debt busting! :)

    Hi all!

It took ages to catch up on all the posts! :rotfl:

Well done to everyone doing so well, welcome to all the newbies and hope that those going through a hard time see better times soon!! :A

It's payday for me (well yesterday) so my new totals (with the interested added back in!) are:

    #54: 4833.37/ 10,678

I had some great news too! I had put in a PPI claim and I honestly didn't expect to get anything back but I got a letter and after the removal of tax I will get around £3000 in a few weeks time!! This is going straight to my debt and it will leave me only a few thousand pounds to go before I can start saving for my own house!

Now, you'd think I'd be totally over the moon (and I AM so grateful) but after everything that's happened over the past few years and going from a total of 23K in debt I just feel sick! It's like I don't expect good news anymore - how sad is that!?! Hopefully this is the start of great new things!! :)

I must admit I'll be glad to get this debt shifted! I'm working too much and getting really tired BUT it will all be worth it!! I will update my totals again once I receive the money!

Wishing you all loads of debt-busting luck :j

  • Welcome to the challenge YoungBusinessman :). There are quite a few of us who won't be able to pay off all our debts by Christmas so you are in good company!

In other news, I've paid off £389 as it was payday yesterday so my figures now stand at:

    £1599/£4515

    Yay :):)!

And now back to my revision :A.

Thank you very much. We sure will be much closer to having them paid off by Xmas..I'm giving it a right go to push on and I don't think il be happy unless it's right down into single figure by Xmas. I don't see why it won't be. I will be advertising in local paper next 3 months to try and bring more work in for outside my main contact job. Not sure how much it will cost yet but will only need 2 decent jobs from it to cover costs and make some money, anymore will be a good bonus.

I am also selling off some machinery..will be looking to get around £1500 for it. Again, anymore is a bonus. Surplus to requirements so hopefully I can sell pretty soon. I am owed £1800 from previous job...might suggest £200 a month payments or something just to claw back as much as I can,it's been 6 months!!

Apart from that,on a personal front not spent a penny all weekend, this week should be a no spend and all I need next weekend is diesel for work van. Everyday I feel more and more positive about getting to my lovely. Debt free date. At the moment it must be sometime late 2013 even. Early 2014 so will try and bring it forward to early 2013 at latest. Thanks guys, great thread, see you all on savings board next year lol.

Oooh, I can't wait til we're all on the savings board!:D

OK, I appreciate that this sounds slightly sad, but as we didn't have bacon for breakfast this morning (Sunday is usually full English) I paid £2 to the credit card. It's an obsession once you get started isn't it?! Enjoy what's left of the weekend everyone.:)
