    Hi guys,
I must apologise for being AWOL for so long. I'm not even sure why, but time has slipped away from me this summer so I didn't realise it had been that long until I checked. How is everyone doing?
I am super uptight this month as I volunteered at the Paralympics so I knew pay would be a squeeze this month.
Totally worth it though, I had an amazing time!
So I thought to myself I really needed to get back on here and knuckle down with the debt busting again.
I have missed you all so much!
What have I missed??? all gossip since August I think...:rotfl:

Wow bet that was an amazing experience! I ended up going to the Paralympics twice (once at the park, once at Excel) and it was absolutely brilliant!

  • Did anyone catch the Martin Lewis money show this week? He predicts the the energy companies are going to hike up their prices really soon. So took his advice and checked my details on a comparison site, and not only got it for £60 cheaper but it's fixed until march 2014 with no tie ins. Worth having a look people. :money::money::money:

I'm tied in for another month or too and then I'll be looking (need to stay in for a £100 discount) so hopefully I can get a fixed tarrif then.

I'm back!!!!!!!!!!! Tried to get on yesterday but had major internet issues.

Well we had a great time, relaxed which was needed! I would give anything not to go back to work tomorrow which I guess is a normal feeling after being on holiday!

I found out when I was away that I'm going to have a niece!!!!!! She's due on Feb 10th. Very exciting!!!!

Being away made me think very hard about my life and how it's not what I want it to be and how I'm not the person I know I am. I'm going to have to make changes cos I don't want to feel down anymore. Only I can make the changes to who I want to be. Yesterday I sucked it up and paid off my credit card in full but can't close it until the payment clears. I also paid about £200 off my other credit card. I will declare my total properly when I'm on my laptop later.

I am determined to pay off this debt as quickly as possible so I can save up for a place of my own. I will be about £2k short at Christmas but I will have paid off £15k which I'm very happy with. I'm going to tidy my room today and then go for a long walk. I'm going out for tea tonight with a friend which will be lovely to catch up.

Anyway, I'll be back on later but just wanted to say Hello!!!! xxx

I have a confession to make :o I have been spending yesterday  yes, I admit it, I bought new kitchen scales! DH said it was a necessary purchase after I used them to weigh a parcel on friday and it said it weighed nearly 2kg, took it to the post office and their scales said 1580g :rotfl: so I wasted an entire £2.99 on a new set from H0me Bargains :rotfl: frivolous I know! :rotfl: maybe my biscuit mix will come out as its supposed to now my scales will weigh accurately

  • I asked for some advice about this a few weeks ago - my parents helped me with a car loan last January, and I pay back £100 a month. Dad said to write off the last £200, but I had decided to pay the last 2 payments anyway to help Mum out with her debt. Again, Dad told me today to write it of this month (saving £300 now), I told Mum I would still make the last 3 payments because I wanted to feel like the debt was paid off, but they have agreed that they have helped my sister out a lot lately and need to treat us equally. As much as I have debt to clear, I don't owe as much as Mum, and don't need the money as much as she does, to me its just one more month of debt, but she's signed into a 10 year debt management scheme.

Long story short, Mum's told me to put my last three payments aside to pay for a new laptop, because they didn't help me buy my uni laptop which now needs replacing... I really don't expect them to help but there's no winning! But I'm grateful none the less.

Well I've resolved to set up a standing order for £20 a month into Mum's bank account. Such a small amount, she'll never notice it coming in but it will make life a bit easier. Anyway, I now have a new update -

    #338 £1753.5/3486 = 50.3% :j:j:j:j

Hope you had a nice holiday Jemma!
