The "Pay ALL your debt off by Xmas 2012" challenge - PART 3!!!

No 93 8631/21120 40.86% of total and 57% of interim target
Hi number 93 just checking in, I've been manically busy working over 50 hours a week and scouting three nights a week plus all the usual family stuff but the board and this challenge are always in the back of my mind.
Financially it's been a disaster because we have had to finance our daughter completely since april to the tune of £700 per month, dh's business has been very slow and unreliable so my overpayments have been non existent - very frustrating! I've also discovered that whilst I'm working hard trying to get us out of debt and keep our heads above water my dh has put another 6k on his credit card and signed for 6k lease on business equipment  It all feels pretty pointless tbh, I'm trying to move forward but it's just piling up behind me. We can't get any help with college for our son either. Never mind I'll just keeping going and see what happens, I'm thinking that I'll have to leave dh to face his own consequences this time and just keeping plodding on with the figure I've committed to paying off. There's no way I'll hit my target though
Hope you're all well.0 -

I really think you should maybe try to tactfully explain that her son had been taking toys from your house (if she's an approachable person) He really needs to learns stealing is wrong. Your hubby also needs to explain to the dad what's been happening, I mean he may just think mum has bought them for the son.
The main problem is that they are not 'that kind of people' (tries to think how to put it tactfully . . . ) The kid has very few toys tbh, and what he has he breaksNeither of them work so they go everywhere together, she has no opportunity to get him something without dad knowing and they've seen those cars a million times round here as he always makes a bee line for her car box (I should b thankful he never managed to nick the eddie stobart tbh as that was his favourite). The mother just doesnt seem to have any morals and seems to be quite happy for her kid to take what he wants, hit other kids and break things  Needless to say, I wont be caught out a second time

Maybe I could make an effort to sell things to make more money. I'm sure I can hear J-M yelling "do it!" at the computer:D However I've really made an effort with surveys, collecting loyalty points etc and have £160 to use for Christmas pressies etc.
So I'm looking at Easter 2013 to be debt free:)

Pointless post but I have just watched confessions of a shopaholic and whilst in essence it's a rom-com, it has several themes in it which some of you may have experienced. For me anyway i've had the debt collectors after me, on one or two occasions having my card declined. Luckily i've never lost friends over my stupid (former) spending ways but I have been stupid on more than one occasion before my LBM when I lied to my housemate about not paying the council tax because i spent her half on !!!!!. OH THE SHAME!!!!:eek:
THANK GOD i have seen the error of my ways and it only makes me even more determined to get to at least 50% before christmas! £2329 to go!In debt no more!0 -

Fritterprincess that's ruddy marvellous!! :T
It's my payday tomorrow and I am chomping at the bit. I got a small payrise of....wait for it...£23 a month but it all adds up :j Also sold £48 worth of stuff on ebay yesterday and more uploaded for next Sunday. Loads of DVDs didn't go so I think I'll try a zapper or music magpie batch tomorrow.
I REALLY want to make a payment!!! :rotfl: Is there a going slightly bonkers smilie?DMP started Oct '17: £79,974 :eek::eek::eek::eek:0 -
Thanks spagbol!!!
Keep plodding away, you will get there, and what a lovely feeling it will be when it happens.
I have a bit of a predicament now- do I keep my overdraft facility at £2000 or do I get rid altogether? Lovely Santander have whacked there overdraft rate to £1 a day up to a maximum of £20 a month, where as I was only paying £7.50 before for a £4000 facility. I really don't want to get overdrawn again, and I have a credit card if I have an emergency which I can then pay off at the end of the month.
I think I should be a big brave girl and get rid!!LBM 14th Oct 2011 TOTAL DEBT £8500  £8500/£8500 (100%) paid)

Not sure about completely getting rid of it, but you could reduce it significantly to cover that DD you forgot about etc.I was a DFW, now I'm a MFW :T0

Get rid!! I agree with you, my Sant OD has gone from £5pcm to £20pcm which at £800 for the OD is unacceptable and has become my next debt to pay off now it is the highest interest.
I have been debating this as I was wondering whether to keep a £50 cushion but since I have spent my recent years living to the OD limit I figure I can just live to £0!! I'm going to reduce it to £0, hopefully on Friday:T
