Any sign of the interest being paid today as yet...?!0
-
It will be paid in overnight tonight I imagine.
Had it appeared today there would have been a flurry of posts stating as such.0 -
Thanks - I shall look forward to it!0
-
The monthly NW 5% current accounts normally pay the interest at around 21:30hrs on the last day of the month. i.e. in about an hour.
This might be an indication of when the interest shows for this ISA too..
Then again it could be wildly wrong if there is completely different program(s) used.
I just love typing me.
Edit - 21:30hrs came, the interest on the C/A was paid and nothing in the ISA. Sorry for the misinformation!0 -
You are doing them no favour if you I]answer their question[/I.
If someone asks a question & you answer it, even if you believe they can find the answer themselves, even if you think you're above answering such 'ridiculous' questions, then you will have helped someone.
Personally, i don't see the need in an attitude. If someone doesn't know the answer because they can't find it when they've tried really hard, or when they've had a quick glance, or even if they can't be bothered ........ then if someone knows the answer what's such the big deal that it can't just get answered? Big deal the question may have an 'obvious;' answer. So what?0 -

Gosh, thank you. So many miserable people on this forum that nitpick at little things. Either answer the question or move on. It's an internet forum, no need to make a big deal about it as i doubt your complaints will change anything anyway.0 -
As predicted, the interest appeared overnight.0

Yes, very nice too!
I had added previous ISAs to this account, a very competitive interest rate.
Not much available these days though.0 -
Firstly I'd just like to thank those posters who do the research and discover the moneysaving/moneymaking opportunities. There is every likelihood that without MSE my entire cash ISA holdings would not have been earning 4.25% these past few months.
Secondly I have just been skimming (not researching!) back through the last couple of pages and marvelling at the sharp minds commenting on the less sharp minds that visit these parts
We surely are a mixed bunch and we cannot all be T&Cs experts or otherwise picky researchers can we?
Someone mentioned some surprise that less smart MSE readers are prepared to follow the word of "some random poster on the internet" or similar. I offer that this is not evidence of less smart behaviour but of a developed society. It is one where certain phenomena can be trusted purely because of what right now I cannot find describing words better than "the peer equilibrium effect".
What that means with threads like this, and the general consensus that can often be drawn by just skimming through it, applying weight to posts by "known" contributors, or even just reading a page or two, is that "on the whole" MSE is a widely trusted and trustworthy brand.
Rarely does any reliance upon what is read here cause the reader problems because they didn't do the research themselves. There are of course a few notable exceptions such as the FOREX fiasco with the "market leader" that crashed, and some of us are still struggling to understand the broad sentiment behind the current MSE standpoint on student loans. But overall, MSE has, mostly through the forum contributions of experts, activists, pedants, complainers, bright stars, whiners and winners, and most of all through the consumer pressure exercised by "believers" who read it here first, proven itself to be the best barometer, compass and way forward in this complicated world for a very significant sample of the whole population.
That is why for the last three or four years now, politicians have been wise to take note of headlines here too - and you don't expect them to have read all the small print on how to get their 4.25%, do you :rotfl:From the late great Tommy Cooper: "He said 'I'm going to chop off the bottom of one of your trouser legs and put it in a library.' I thought 'That's a turn-up for the books.' "0 -
Yes very nice to get such a high interest indeed.
In March, i was struggling to think of where to put my previous few years ISA which was maturing in a Santander 3.5%. So it was perfect timing to find out about this ISA now allowing transfer.0
