Does anyone know when the annual interest will be paid for this ISA? I think it was paid end of September last year but i am unsure due to the big rate drop on 31st October.

As has been said, interest will still be paid on Monday - the change in rate on 31 October doesn't change that.

During October, you will earn interest at 4.25%. From 1 November, you'll earn it at 2%.

This interest (a combination of the 4.25% and 2% amount) will then be paid on 30 September 2014 (or on closure if you close the account before that date).

It's worse than that - they'd seemingly rather believe a random poster on an Internet forum they are new to, instead of making sure they understand the legal terms their accounts are subject to. Really scary.

No offense to RB10 and any other posters who are trying to help.

Haha sorry about that. I just wanted to confirm the date of annual interest hasnt changed. If noone had replied, i guess i would have had to read the T&C or just wait to find out :p
  • Come on!! Judging by the number of posts some of you have made you wouldn't know what to do with your lives if people didn't ask questions which were in the terms and conditions. Sometimes you have to do a bit of a search with key words to find the terms and conditions on savings products no longer available.

Don't apologise, ask away, some of us are happy to help even with obvious answers.

    You miss the point entirely.
It is vitally important that people know what they are signing up to ... T&Cs are part of that. If they don't know what savings and investment terms that they have there is no hope of them ever understanding.
It is also a factor of the internet age that many people can't be bothered to research anything other than by asking inane questions on internet forums.
    Like a replacement mother.
    Infantalisation rules. O. K.
  • Or they could be people with very busy lives who don't have time to search websites and are under the illusion that people are willing to help on these forums. Most people just look at the interest rate and when it ends.

MSE is all about being friendly and helpful - be nice to other moneysavers' is their motto.

If people do not wish to help, then surely they could choose to ignore! Leave alone any posts in which answers can be found elsewhere ........ and move on! :D

Whilst I agree with the sentiment its also about being honest.

If people dont know what they are signing up for when they push their money into these products then they will struggle.

This forum is full of 'misselling' stories. This thread is a perfect example of people signing up for products where they dont know even the fundamentals of said product.

I realise there was some ambiguity in the T&Cs regarding transferring money into this specific ISA, but these recent questions arent anything to do with this topic, and are of a much, much more fundamental level.

As an aside to people asking questions when the answer is contained in the previous post!! (See previous page!).

Sorry to disagree with you typistretired, but look at the above sequence.
