Mary43, have you found out anything exciting from doing the family tree? That must be a great project, my Mum wants to do ours

Sorry.........I did reply to this yesterday but it seems to have disappeared............lol Tell your Mum to go ahead. It's a lot of fun, very addictive though. One of the first things your Mum ought to do is talk to other relatives..........its amazing the info you can discover and they do love to talk about the days gone by. My Mum gave me a lot of info I'd never have discovered any other way and it makes the whole thing more interesting than just a lot of names and dates.

Clear out of junk room today been shelved due to one lad being sent home from school with a headache........but I have filed a lot of papers away, answered letters, written to people I intended to and didn't get around to it and made a very organised list of ''stuff to do' on a smaller scale for the rest of the week. OH might have a go at the junk room this afternoon........once one of us starts its a lot easier.

Had a reply from the Dont Dump That site..........fingers crossed I get rid of the two pairs of stereo speakers that are cluttering up a corner ! OH was given them and couldn't say no, working on the principle that if you refuse you won't get offered anything again.............lol
Just hope the chap really wants them. Had one interested before but he never turned up and this one seems more interested in how big they are.

Oh eck..........just spotted the pack of card making stuff I need to send off to Mums care home............must sort that out before I forget it...........lol

Oh Mary, where did your original reply go? I did read it on here yesterday AND thanked you for it and it was commented on by someone else too (whose message has also disappeared) How strange.

Does anyone know of anywhere I could get rid of a (cheapie) broken printer, other than throwing it away? Have tried Freecycle but unsurprisingly, nobody wants it! Working ones on ebay are only going for about a fiver so I can't see that as an option either!

If you take it to your local tip and give it to one of the attendants they should put it to one side so it doesn't get put into the landfill. They normally have people who come around picking up all the old electrical stuff - and if they don't they will make sure it gets put into the proper recycling area.

My footwear collection could do with a rethink, I have 14 pairs and see no reason why anyone would need more than 10 pairs. I have trainers, wellies, plastic flip flops, ankle boots, knee boots, walking boots (x2 winter and summer), walking sandals, smart sandals, smart shoes (x2 one flat one heeled), casual shoes (x2) and a pair of slippers. How does that compare to anyone here who's already sorted their footwear?

Don't even think about it!!! you can NEVER have too many shoes

Yes, my post has disappeared....perhaps because we went off the topic!!!! Oh dear , smacked wrist time I think.

I think if you can't get rid of the printer on freecycle then perhaps regrettably you may have to chuck it out.

Missyg - how long did you leave it on freecycle for ? I know sometimes things don't go straight away (my plastic plant pots were there for months -I'd almost forgotten about them before I got response)
You'd think someone would be able to repair it or at least use the parts.

Got rid of a bit more junk (the stuff that was too good to just get rid of). Item sold on ebay and an item sold on amazon :D. Not a lot of profit made (about a tenner) but better in my pocket!
CC2 = £8687.86 ([STRIKE]£10000[/STRIKE] )CC1 = £0 ([STRIKE]£9983[/STRIKE] ); Reusing shopping bags savings =£5.80 vs spent £1.05.Wine is like opera. You can enjoy it even if you don't understand it and too much can give you a headache the next day J

It's been on for over a week Mary, as well as being reminded "still available" on my subsequent posts. I have posted it on all 3 groups that I'm on the border of. That's funny about your plant pots, I've never had anyone come back to me on items more than a few days old!

If I do this boot sale I might take it along and let it go for free if anyone can make use of it. Just getting a bit fed up with it sitting around now :p

Sandy, hehe about the shoes! I don't feel the same, I'd be glad to reduce them. I hardly ever wear the smart ones but they are a bit of a necessary evil as there's always the odd occasion isn't there!

How's the ebay sending going folks? I've been paid for (and sent out) all but 6 items, 3 of which have told me they are sending a cheque.

Pigpen, I don't know when the next cheap listing day is but on 20 Feb the new fees come into effect which mean cheaper listings overall but higher final value fees on items that sell.

Thanks! the next mountain can be listed on Thursday then.

And you cannot possibly have too many shoes!!! It is simply not possible!!

I have more than 14 pairs of 'going out' shoes.. before we get into trainers and slippers and sandals and pumps and boots and lord knows what else! I even have a pair of crocs somewhere lurking  I just had to sell several pairs that I couldn't fit in my shoe cupboard.. yes I have a shoe cupboard all to myself!

The first 4 bags of ebay sales are gone... WOO!!! I made 3 trips to the post office today and I think they are getting a bit fed up of me.. lol..I have 4 to go overseas and a few more to package and a huge one to arrange collection for.. I'll do that now actually while my head is in gear. I have 13 mot paid for yet.. and only 1 has offered a cheque/postal order

I am a whole box and a half down!!! WOO.. I even used one of the huge bags I'd stored things in to post something.. so I got rid of that too! lol.

That binbag finally found its way to charity shop.

I have a bag of stuff my daughter never wore.. all still with tags.. so I've parcelled that up to send to my uncle in Germany for his little girl. thats a drawer empty upstairs

I'm really interested in what kinds of things people are ebaying? I'm not sure anyone would actually pay for any of my clutter
