Getting on much better now, got rid of most of the clutter now, so far this weekend..
IN: Nothing :j
OUT: 1 Broken Chair, 2 bags of Rubbish, 1 bag for charity shop(to take monday)
Tea's on in the slow cooker, and I've only got 1 more load off washing for today.:D:D:D:D
Where's the Coffee?? Show me the Coffee NOW!!0 -
The old vax should finally be getting picked up today! :j
Then sometime this week the mattrass in spare bedroom 2 should be going to the tip, which means the bed/mattrass from the shed can be put in spare room 2 and all OH's car parts can be removed from my kitchen and put in the shed! Phew! Then my house will at least look less like a garage!
Have completely emptied the porch of shoes/car bits so it's now empty for the first time since we moved in. Shoes are all in under stairs cupboard and car parts will be evicted shortly as I said above!Small business owner 🧵 Ex MSE comper 🏆 Student loan repayer 💴 Romanian dog rescuer 🐕 Hopefully a cost of living survivor 🤞🏻0 -
Hi all!!
Haven't been on this thread forso long!! Mainly due to guilt as I was spending so long on the internet that I wasn't doing any of the decluttering/carrying out all my good intentions!
So today I decided enough was enough (again!0 and went into the utility room/really bit of the garage and decided to have a sort out!
Well I went into the dreaded under the sink cupboard and do you know I think I had 10 measure/ball things for washing powder/liquid! How embarrassing! I also had a lovely monsoon dress that I'd left there to try and get the stain out on the front and I reckon that was 3 years ago now so it's in the pile for the 2nd hand shop! at least I realised I have enough laundry products/washing up liquid/dishwasher stuff to last at least a couple of months and I don't need to buy a microfibre cloth agian in a hurry!!
Also sorted out baking and cake decorating bits (didn't realise I'd bought quite so many cheap sprinkles etc from Mr T's!) but they are all sorted out and ordered now. Went through all my cookery books and decided that some are brand new and can be used as gifts ?sold and the rest will go off to the 2nd hand shop. Cleared loads out so the hshelf is not overflowing.
As you can see I'm very pleased with myself, just got to sweep the floor and wash it, clear the sides down and it will be 300% better than 2 hours ago when I started!
I can now come back on this thread with something to say tho' there's loads more to do and areas I decluttered in the past have to be done again, it's a bit like painting the Forth Road bridge if you know what I mean!!!
Anyway enough waffle, thanks everyone for listening and will try and join in a bit more to keep motivated from you inspirational guys!!0 -
Hi. Can I join you good people. We came back from holiday last week and, as DH has some more time off work, decided to declutter
So far this week I have:
Been through all the clothes and taken 3 bags to charity, 2 bags of dd's clothes to go to a friend and 1 bag of ds's to another friend and 1 bag to the local school.
Been through ds bedroom with him and put out lots of old toys for boot sale.
Sorted all paperwork and files everything away in lovely new filing system. (got a huge pile of shredding to do now!)
DH has started to go through the garage and a huge pile of rubbish is growing on the drive! Sorted loads of stuff to ebay or boot sale (hopefully next week)
I have cleaned out the cupboard under the sink and the understairs cupboard.
I'm having a break from it today but will start again tomorrow.. I'm on a roll and the rooms I have done look soooo nice with all the clutter gone. :j
Just worried that I will do all this and then let it get back to how it was:)Do more of what makes you happy:)0 -

in:
100 euro's
Out:
one huge wood and glass cabinet.
It was lovely, but big and in the way. Filled with knicknacks that made the whole thing look messy.
With us putting in the coal stove there just wasn't any space for it.
So I sold it!
got picked up today and I LOVE the space it frees up!
Knicknacks all in a box in the attic now.. can't part with them just yet. Has to be done when kids are not at home.

You can trade in old mobiles and get clubcard points, so that helps with your ebay auction0

I didn't think I had alot of clutter as I don't tend to keep things I don't use but today I have:-
1) Done a car boot sale and made £30 towards Christmas
2) Taken four bags to Charity
3) Freecycled one motorcycle helmet - collected this afternoon
4) Cleared out my baking cupboard and got rid of all my duplicate baking trays/sheets/cake tins
 How did all this "stuff" get in my house??! Ah, well, at least it's gone now!0
