Enough is enough - the great declutter

I've tried FlyLady, I've previously had several major declutters but as it turns out I'm just a slovenly ho. I'm great at something until the novelty wears off and then I rapidly fall off the band wagon.
So at that point in an evening when I think "nah can't be bothered anymore, going to read a book and go to bed" I'm going to make myself do one small thing more than I would have done had I just veged with my book, a book of which I'm capable of reading 100 plus pages in an evening so its not a major hardship to forgo 5 minutes of this. The same goes for those evenings when I sit through a 1 hour program on Channel 5 only to discover that 40 minutes of it (or at least it feels that way) are adverts. I will utilise at least one of the advert breaks to do something more constructive than flick thorough other channels or make yet another cuppa. Any one fancy joining me?
So to start:
By the time I go to bed I will have......
Day 1. Listed on E-bay a bag of mobile phones surplus to requirements following schools fundraiser in May. If I'm getting carried away I will at the same time list some outgrown Oxford Reading Tree Level 1 books.
Day2. Clear out the bits of paper around my PC which includes finding a home for 3x 36 point Brit Trip vouchers, 1075 Tesco Clubcard points on baby purchases and 12 x 1/2 price adult and 12 x 1/2 price child entry vouchers to Sea Life, Chessington, Alton Towers, Madame Tussauds, The Dungeons, Legoland and Warwick Castle (any takers?)
Day 3. Filed the mountain of bills lurking in the kitchen cupboard which are preventing me putting the mugs away.
Day 4. Sort out the outgrown clothes from the littlest DDs room so that I can put the new things away in drawers rather than in her dolls house.Saving for a Spinning Wheel and other random splurges : £183.500 -
Good idea, Moo2moo. I have a similar to-do list that I add to as and when I think of things I need to do, and it has made me more organised. Best of luck with it.Continually trying the Grocery Challenge. Gotta keep trying!0

It's surprising what you can do in the 3 minute ad breaks. Last night I washed, dried and put away the supper dishes, and put clean bedding on my bed - all during the breaks. I'm a slo-mo and not very motivated - but it's amazing what you can get done in 3 minutes when you try.
Good luck!0 -
Especially if you watch Sky - much longer ad breaks!0

Ads are my new secret weapon. Not only can I get stuff done that normally would have been left for days, it's currently the only way that DS (6) will tidy up before bed.
A little bit in the ads and all I have to do then is hoover. :jAiming to be Debt free by October 20130 -

Its a much better idea. I often do little bits in the ad breaks. I feel overwhelmed by the amount of stuff to do & can usually get a fair amount done by the end of the evenings tv. It also feels like I never really did anything because I still got to watch my programmes lol.
Hugs
HelenWe don't need to do it perfectly - good enough is exactly that GOOD ENOUGH.
