    Hi everyone!

If anyone can tell me how to eat this bloomin elephant, I would be very grateful. I think I'm secretly hoping that someone will say oh, take them to the charity shop/freecycle em and start over again from now onwards. But I know that's nonsensical when we're brassic.

It really is getting me down though :o

All advice would be very welcomed indeed. Then we have the other stuff in the loft and garage to sort...but it won't seem quite so bad once the size 8 pair of trousers have finally gone somewhere else (like I'm ever gonna get back into THOSE :p!).

    Thanks so much everyone
    Luce

ps is it worth listing a huge kids lot on Ebay and an adults lot, collection only for 99p do you think? Never tried but would love to hear others experiences of this.

One bite at a time!! Can't help you re kids clothes, as I never had kids; but in your position, I'd fetch a manageable armful of stuff from the loft, and go through it carefully, being ruthless as to getting rid of things. DON'T fetch another armful down until you've gone through the first, and allocated for E-bay, charity, the rag-bag or the recycling textiles point.

If you KNOW you're not going to get into size 8 again, E-bay the stuff. I got rid of all my tiny clothes (major weight gain from being on prednisolone), and actually felt better when they were out of the house.

If in doubt, turf it out.... don't be tempted to keep things that haven't been used/worn in ages "just in case".

    Good luck!

I'm worried about selling the kids stuff as there's so much to sort out, plus there's probably a few bits with stains on which I'm worried about slipping through the net and getting bad feedback for, I have no clue what to do with my clothes as they need washing/ironing really and I just don't get chance, esp as there's so much.

Eat elephants... one bite at a time!!

List items in bunches of 5 or 10.. that way you can wash and check over any things that are being listed. List them in one bundle or separately depending on make and quality.

I don't think it is worth listing bundles on ebay for 99p.. I have been selling on there for years and it simply isn't worth it. Most people will pay the 99p start price for a dozen items and would be just as willing to pay 99p each for 3 of the items from the bundle.

It isn't worth listing unbranded stuff either.. high street brands and designers are about all that go as far as childrens clothes are concerned.

Get as much as possible into the title.. make size quality fabric design etc rather than just item and size.. it hits more searches that way.

There is an ebay forum on here so I am told.. never looked for it myself.. but it may be of use to you.

Pigpen, I've just been browsing this thread and can't believe how much stuff you've got rid of. Are you related to Mr Trebus or do you have an enormous manor house in the country or something?

Just loads and loads and loads of rubbish.

I have a bed base being collected tomorrow morning.. There is a charity shop round the corner that isn't too picky about what it sells so they are having it.. why I didn't think of it before I have no idea.

Parcels to post today.. and I stack of stuff to flip on ebay.. they will be photoless until I get round to it but they will be going!!

How long do you think you've got till you're done pigpen? I've been de-cluttering (slowly) just short of 4 years and am only just coming to the end. That is not including attic (not too bad) and shed (hubby's domain - he keeps all sorts of crap!). I'd have done it quicker if I hadn't been doing it round a pre-school age child, but it's taken me this long with only 2 kids, no idea how long it'd take me with 8.
