What is it you are after we might be able to help?? we have 9 charity shops here.. and I have loads of older rellies.. someone must have a copy!

I don't think it is likely to be sitting on many people's book shelves but stranger coincidences have happened so details are:

'A Short History of the Leadgate Industrial and Provident Society Limited 1870-1920' by James Smith published in 1921 (Leadgate is in Co Durham)

Whilst I appreciate your comment re the charity shops please don't go searching but if anyone does have it, I can help with both your de-cluttering and your bank balance!
Don't put it down, put it away - thanks Valli

Thank you to all who post competitions & help the smooth running of the comps board

I am often in charity shops anyway so it won't be a problem to have a scout.. I'll go asking some rellies.. they have a bunch of strange and obscure titles amongst them.. and then there is my uncle Klepto.. ;)

    Mortgage-free Glee!
More packing up of OH's house to do tonight and tomorrow. Bit tired though as I flew to Belfast for the day today and it was a 4am start:eek:

I have the removals firm coming tomorrow to price up the actual removals.

Am planning to clear out the spare room/office here to transport contents to my house at the weekend.

Nothing more to get rid of - everything left is reusable at my house (soon to be our house!)

Such a shame to leave OH's lovely little house - the garden is looking fabulous at the moment - but its too small and our joint outgoings will be hugely reduced! Plus, we are also lucky enough to have a lovely garden there too - and the seaview of course!
:D Thanks to MSE, I am mortgage free!:D
  • Well after reading the majority of this thread I'm feeling inspired to join in.
I'm sick of living in such a pigsty, and haven't seen the floor in my dining room or spare room for months
I've listed some things from out garage on Ebay, and the total is standing at £175 at the moment, with loads of watchers and around a day left on them all.
I've also decided that I have to declutter at least 1 thing every day, either list something on Ebay, throw it away, or give it away on Freecycle.

I'll be watching this thread with interest and will list my achievements on here too. Seems like everyone is doing brilliantly so far.

Yorkshirechick.. that sounds like a fantastic start!! I suddently switched my head off to the clutter as well and it had to go.. memories are in your heart not in the piles and piles and piles of junk lying around.. I've kept a few special things but everything else has had to go!

    Hi all.

    In - nothing so far
Out - a few tops and a jumper that didn't sell on ebay to be taken to charity shop at lunch time.

Still waiting for one person to pay up so I can post their item. Ooops no, just got an email and they have paid - so that can go out tomorrow :D

11 items on ebay - no bids, one watcher - looks like that lot will end up at the charity shop too :o
working on clearing the clutterDo I want the stuff or the space?

There's a Street Sale up our street and the next on Saturday morning and I'm trying to temp OH into having a table outside out house.............one minute he nods his head, next minute he mutters about it in negative fashion.
So,I think I'll just sling some things in a box and make a start............maybe he'll follow suit and maybe, just maybe, we'll make a few much needed pennies ?

    So far today

    In................nothing
    Out.............wine bottles to freecyle collector
    Mary

I'm creative -you can't expect me to be neat too !

Mary.. that sounds like a great plan.. :D... and if he doesn't join in.. you keep ALL the pennies and treat yourself!!!!

    In

3 pairs of jeans and a top.. not decided which are staying yet though.. will go do a trying on session in a second.

    Out

    14 ebay parcels... :D
1 binbag to chairty shop.. containing 2 coats 2 pairs of shoes and some other bits and bobs!... FLING!!!

I am actually finding it harder to locate stuff to send to charity shop now.. and I am actually noticing the difference int he level of clutter about the place... and now before I buy something I actually THINK where it is going to love BEFORE I buy it.. and if I can't think of a home for it.. I don't get it!!
