Morning Westie - seem to have been on your own for a while :)

    Morning everyone starting their day.

Earth Day 2012 - off later to make our contribution to the Billion Acts of Green.

I don't get involved in the politics but I do like to take time out most days, not just Earth Day, to ponder the cause - to promote awareness and appreciation for the Earth's natural environment - because it is, quite simply, awesome :)

Looks like it - I think most sane and sensible people are still zzzzing which sounds like a fit and proper thing to do early on a Sunday morning :)

Well, during the 'good old R&R days', they certainly banned or threatened to ban quite a few regular claimants! Some of the stores got extremely unpleasant about it and the general opinion was that Tesco (or any other store for that matter) can ban you for no reason at all and they don't need to explain themselves! I looked seriously at the idea of buying a few Tesco shares to wave at them if they got too funny with me.

Tesco can and will ban anyone they feel like banning and the chances of getting any real media interest in your case are probably very low.

I realise they can ban anyone they want. However I think claiming one DTD from a store every 6 months is unlikely to get you banned. In addition if they were banning people for something that trivial then they would be more likely to get bad publicity, than if they did it for a more understandable reason.
Well local stores share info so a single store ban might end up with problems in other stores too.

Secondly, buying stuff JUST for the DTD as we do might be legal but it certainly isn't going to win you too many friends in Tesco...........even in the towers of power. They CAN and DO refuse to serve people, it is their right and lets be fair Tesco is a profit making organisation not a charity.

Do you think any outside organisation would help if they were shown a list of things you'd 'accidentally' been overcharged on over the past few months?

Two people were lucky recently to get their bans overturned, but the suspicion and scrutiny remains.

Each to their own of course, but being a bit thoughtful would seem to be a prudent thing to do IMO.

I don't go to t's to win friends. If they do not want to pay out the occasional DTD then they should price things correctly.
Not sure how many people remember reading about the store manager who was overheard telling the SA to leave the misprice up ...beacause most people don't realise and would buy the product thinking they were getting a good deal.

I can guarantee T's make more money on all the unnoticed overcharges, than they pay out on DTD! ;)
