Evening gang   sorry for late post, haven't even caught up yet, only up to post 8201

We went into town and Alan had his eye test then ordered his new glasses. Then we looked around the small market that was there and went in a few shops, before having a coffee and cake in Greggs :D

Back home and Alan had a nap before we went along to get shopping in at March Tossco, and picked up chinese takeaways for us and disabled neighbour. Very nice it was too, although I just had egg fried rice with sweet & sour sauce

Alan said he does feel stronger now :D:D

We are going to the car boot in the morning, calling at Lidl for it opening at 10am to get some of the bacon which is on offer this weekend. The forecast is not good, more showers, so I don't imagine there'll be too much going on at the car boot but we will still go for a natter with friends and maybe breakfast in cafe ...... anyway, I gotta go to get my flowers :D

Now for some catching up for half hour or so

The hats that Nikki posted, my store had a huge display of them (and others too) and then they vanished the day they went to 4p another one for staff sale only I reckon.
Well done to those with DVD's etc.
My store is so on the ball with everything.
I accidentally picked up 4 on Friday as I thought the offer had ended but it hadn't, haven't returned them yet!

Everything will be ok in the end, and if it isn't ok then it isn't the end :)

I don't like red wine that tastes of vinegar, but there are some lovely ones out there. You've got to try them to know though. The things I put myself through...! Prefer rose these days, I don't get heartburn then!

Tenth Anniversary Combo Breaker Xmas Saver!
    Morning Everyone.
    Great news Spiraling Down:j:j
You said that you were looking for some blinds, we have some brand new wooden venetians/verticals/blackout rollers that were duplicates sent from the manufacturers. Problem is they are made to measure but if your windows are close in size I would be more than happy to arrange to send them to you if it would help.

Thank you for the offer I'll let you know sizes when I go to measure them all. Most of them seem to be small though but not sure of sizes.
Have to measure living room, hall, stairs and landing for flooring. Thankfully the builder listened and left the wooden floor down in the 2 bedrooms for me so has saved me quite a bit there. With DS being asthmatic I find it easier to keep his room dust free with the wooden floors.

  • Any rugby union fans out there, (I seem to remember a few during six nations) Get hold of the Quins Vs Tigers game played today, - It's bound to be repeated on sky, easily the best game I've seen all season! No spoilers here, but sheer class! Just watched it (recorded this afternoon). Outstanding game.

    I counted my dressing gowns 4 @£1 & 8 @4p.

i'm only a couple of years older than you and i rememeber watching re-runs when i was a student - the best part was the flimsy sets, anyone slammed a 'door' too hard and all the walls shook :rotfl:Oh, and spotting who had gone on to do a turn in Neighbours as well. Those were the days, that and Supermarket Sweep....hmmmm now that sounds strangely familiar to some of us visiting Tactos, reckon you'd get a DTD on one of those inflatable bananas? :rotfl:

Maybe some people like to help other people? I've heard of lots of occasions where MSErs have told another shopper about a deal, or shared a spare voucher or two. Over on the cravendale thread someone had about 15 vouchers on th last day, and instead of begging for five codes, she handed them out via PMs so people who were closer to 20 could get their backpacks, She had no points to score, and didnt want her ego stroked, she was just a helpful person.

I personally dont buy a huge amount of glitches etc as I'm a chicken:o. But its also about 'preserving' what we have.

Vouchers were abused and many shops have tightened up on what they will accept, Tesco stopped accepting MOC from other shops, safe coupons were introduced etc.

Occasionally this moral debate rears its head for discusion. In the end everyone has to decide for themselves, and has every right to do so. But I personally am happy to get a reasonable amount, and hope the fun continues for ever, rather than Tesco getting fed up and eventually doing something drastic like stopping DTD or changing their pricing system so we dont get 1p items every so often.

I think you have summed that up so well Lindos, I for one don't want to to take stuff just for the sake of it and have and will leave things, and have hid things from lurkers because I am so fed up of going into T's and finding nothing because the shelves are bare. I would rather the regulars on here be able to share things amongst each other and everyone benefit rather than have a pile of stuff just to look at or lurkers have it all. I haven't gone for any DVD today as I don't want any. Unless you need it want it or will use it, then it is no longer a bargain. There is only so much you can use personally and part of the reason we post is to share the spoils and not keep them to ourselves, otherwise we would all be lurkers:o
If it wasn't for blinds it'd be curtains for all of us:dance:
