Certainly if you had 3 bottles of 25p fizzy water, I would say 3 bags. They couldn't argue that you could fit them in fewer!
cheersI'm off to spend a 50p price check voucher from a womble and will probably pick up some cheap lemonade

It's hard with mother in laws, it's the old saying 'a son is a son till he takes a wife, a daughter's a daughter the rest of your life.'
I have a great relationship with my MIL but my daughter is her only grandchild and I know that when one of her daughter's has a child it will be different. MILs are challenged by their son's wives they seem to feel their role has been replaced.
I know my mum idolised her oldest grandchild by my SIL and oldest brother but again when I had my daughter it was different her daughter having the baby.
It is awful to see your children being treated differently, perhaps she's trying to make up for when her daughter was away and perhaps overdoing it to try to keep her.
Is there anyway to make a stronger link with your SIL and try to bring the whole family closer?
I'm sorry for your loss of your FIL, my FIL is seriously ill at the moment and we could lose him anytime to emphysema as I don't have my father in my life it will leave another huge gap.:(
Yes its hard and no sis in law is only out for her self every time we see them she is all she is interested in, we did try to invite her over for Birthday tea at MIL on my sons birthday but more damage was done as she kept dragging MIL attention to her daughter every time she spoke to us. My boys ended up more hurt.
I lost my dad a year ago not long after my FIL and he was the one i used to speak to about this; all alone now so thanks for listening. My dad had serious chest problems with CPD its not nice to watch be brave0 -

I did post a big long reply but I wont try explaining further.
To bring a long story short my sis in law has never had a good thing to say about my in laws never been around till my father in law was terminally ill then there all the time . My family always there Christmas birthdays summers easter mowwing lawns painting fences.
Father in law dies and mother in law does not want to know my family only the prodigal daughters.
I just want to know why my mother in law posts my kids birthday cards from 10 minutes down the road and leaves them presents on the odd occasion that she does but then on the bin in the garden, even though we are in the house.
I am upset because we always spent Easter at the in laws house and now sis in law who we hardly know lives there spends Easter there with her yuppy friends and mother in law only buys her kids eggs.
Why are my kids old rubbish we may be poor but we do more for others in a week than sister in law will do in her life time, but to mother in law that makes us second class citizens
Lidia - I am just saying that its no good brooding over what your MIL chooses to do/not do for your family as opposed to your SIL and her lot ! You don't think its fair - and it probably isn't fair - but your MIL perhaps has her own reasons (maybe she was an absolute *** in years gone by and drove her daughter away and now feels she has to make amends - who knows?). Your SIL appears to have returned home when her Father was dying, your MIL may have come to rely on her then.
You want answers but the only person who can really tell you is MIL - it might be worth getting your Husband to ask her point blank, it can hardly make the situation worse. Otherwise, try to focus on the fact that your family has done its best .
I'm going to shut up now before I dig myself into a bigger hole - you do appear to have lost out to SIL and I'm sorry you are so upset but , as Flo said earlier, its your MILs choice what she does with her money.ELITE 5:2
