    Well the one thing that annoys the hell out of me is pedantry. I think I'll lurker off toward a supermarket to see whats nice and cheap for tea!

    Ok, not T's (and I have a LOT of catching up to do) but I had to post this...

    W'rose had a crate of broccoli reduced and on offer... and it ended taking off a pound something for every three you bought... so I got 9 and a bag of granola. Got tired of walking around the shop trying to find something for 7p and decided- what the heck, I would just pay at the SS....
    the message came up "SEEK ASSISTANCE" (oops, I thought)...but NO PROBLEM!!!

    I just had to put my card in again SO THEY COULD PAY ME!
    :eek::D:eek::D:eek:

    I did tell people, and surprisingly a few listened :)

    I don't think you are being unkind (although I'm sure a few guys WILL be offended). What you say is much along the same lines as I feel - I have seen too many cases where elderly people are afraid to spend their own money. Where extended families are concerned there is always going to be plenty of room to feel aggrieved/upset/left out etc over real or imagined 'unfairness' and its no good letting it spoil relationships.

    Hi TBW, FLo Flo

    I did post a big long reply but I wont try explaining further.

    To bring a long story short my sis in law has never had a good thing to say about my in laws never been around till my father in law was terminally ill then there all the time . My family always there Christmas birthdays summers easter mowwing lawns painting fences.
    Father in law dies and mother in law does not want to know my family only the prodigal daughters.
    I just want to know why my mother in law posts my kids birthday cards from 10 minutes down the road and leaves them presents on the odd occasion that she does but then on the bin in the garden, even though we are in the house.
    I am upset because we always spent Easter at the in laws house and now sis in law who we hardly know lives there spends Easter there with her yuppy friends and mother in law only buys her kids eggs.
    Why are my kids old rubbish we may be poor but we do more for others in a week than sister in law will do in her life time, but to mother in law that makes us second class citizens

    Broccoli OEP tonight... yes, with the turkey I just cooked!
    Once back in student days, I tried to have a 'broccoli cleansing' where I just ate broccoli. Started in the morning ... caved in and had pizza for supper. :o
