I've just realised that my car insurance is up soon, not too sure when because it was due when DH died this time last year but can't remember if I re-newed before or after the funeral (8/4). I don't know where the documents are and broker is closed until Tuesday or Wednesday. I'm hoping it was after because that would mean it runs out on the day they open again.
Keeping my fingers crossed but not using the car just incase.SPC #329 £471/£500 banked
SPC 2014 £1100:D

Its a long story but been with my OH 20 years and sis in law was gone when I came into family, changed her full name and vanished never there at xmas or birthdays. A few years back she decided to get married and returned like the prodigal and got her M & D to pay for flash wedding; still didnt see much of her till her Dad got cancer and then when he died she was around the house pushing my family out with hers. Her children were playing with father in laws treassures made my boys cry so.
The family home is a large house that in laws lived in 5 bed hertfordshire georgian job. Father in law left to mother in law for her life then half and half to my OH and his sis.
Mother in law gifted to sis in law for a third of the value which she spent on a small cottage which my husband will get most of one day. Mother in law says my boys do not need there own bedrooms as much as sis in law needed a big garden for her toddlers and house to entertain in. Sis in lawalready had a bigger house than my family of five to start with.
Mother in laws reasoning sis in law is better with money than us she earns three times what my OH does working part time and her husband twice that.................story goes on gets worse but needless to say my house is falling down and my six foot sons sharing single rooms so unfair. Mother in law hardly speaks to us but blaims us when she does speak its all about prodigals wonderful family.
I love voucher shopping and getting bargains gives me a high just sometimes I get so down as mother in law is only interested in sis in laws family and mother in law is loaded you could buy a nice house with her bank balance.
Thanks for the rant and support, excuse the punctuation not good at it,especially when ranting.
I'm sorry but this is a touchy subject with me at the moment as my mum has just passed and my brother could barely wait for her to be cold before asking what he is gettiny money wise from her.
Whilst your mother in law is still alive her home and bank balance are her business. I think her husband should have left it all straight to her with just gifts to other family and then she is free to do as she wishes with anything her and her husband accrued in their lifetime.
All my brother's wife does is talk about how her mother and father are spending their inheritance on other family members - I am sorry but it isn't anyones inheritance while they are still living and breathing.

Spiral - are you sure about the renewal ? Insurance Companies normally send out renewal invitations around 2 weeks before the date its due and, if you haven't had an invitation, it could be that its not due yet. Could be lost in the post I suppose.ELITE 5:2
