Broccoli OEP tonight... yes, with the turkey I just cooked!
Once back in student days, I tried to have a 'broccoli cleansing' where I just ate broccoli. Started in the morning ... caved in and had pizza for supper.
You could blanch some of it and freeze it. It's very nice with cheese sauce.liddiaellen wrote: »My OH just witnessed a fight in M & S over items with yellow stickers on. People k.nicking stuff out of each others trolleys and getting agressive
This isn't just any fight, this is an M&S fight...0 -
Apparently serious whoopsie rage he described it as a mass bundle not seen one of those since school.0

Lidiaellen, I read your full post and unsure why you deleted most of it. I think you explained yourself well (not that you need to explain yourself). It sounds like a horrible situation for you and your family and must be heartbreaking for your kids.A bargain is something you don't need at a price you can't resist0

Thanks!
Broccoli
Remove the outer leaves and woody parts from the vegetable and wash in salted water in order to remove insects. Cut the broccoli head into smaller pieces and blanch for 3 - 5 minutes depending on size. Immerse in cold water and drain. Pack in plastic containers.
I just Googled that for you, Laura. I'm sure you can use plastic food bags if you don't have enough containers.0 -

Certainly if you had 3 bottles of 25p fizzy water, I would say 3 bags. They couldn't argue that you could fit them in fewer!0 -
One was taught never to use the word 'toilet'
It is a loo or a lavatory but never a toilet.
(as toilet is a verb & not a noun:o - in my Mother's days ..)
Loo?:eek: At the school that I attended that would have been a detention! One called it a lavatory. :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:0 -

I did post a big long reply but I wont try explaining further.
To bring a long story short my sis in law has never had a good thing to say about my in laws never been around till my father in law was terminally ill then there all the time . My family always there Christmas birthdays summers easter mowwing lawns painting fences.
Father in law dies and mother in law does not want to know my family only the prodigal daughters.
I just want to know why my mother in law posts my kids birthday cards from 10 minutes down the road and leaves them presents on the odd occasion that she does but then on the bin in the garden, even though we are in the house.
I am upset because we always spent Easter at the in laws house and now sis in law who we hardly know lives there spends Easter there with her yuppy friends and mother in law only buys her kids eggs.
Why are my kids old rubbish we may be poor but we do more for others in a week than sister in law will do in her life time, but to mother in law that makes us second class citizens
It's hard with mother in laws, it's the old saying 'a son is a son till he takes a wife, a daughter's a daughter the rest of your life.'
I have a great relationship with my MIL but my daughter is her only grandchild and I know that when one of her daughter's has a child it will be different. MILs are challenged by their son's wives they seem to feel their role has been replaced.
I know my mum idolised her oldest grandchild by my SIL and oldest brother but again when I had my daughter it was different her daughter having the baby.
It is awful to see your children being treated differently, perhaps she's trying to make up for when her daughter was away and perhaps overdoing it to try to keep her.
Is there anyway to make a stronger link with your SIL and try to bring the whole family closer?
I'm sorry for your loss of your FIL, my FIL is seriously ill at the moment and we could lose him anytime to emphysema as I don't have my father in my life it will leave another huge gap.:(0
