Not a very :money:week; but money well-spent on clothing for the men in my household in Marks@Sparks sales. Fortunately, their clothing sizes are the one usually left in the sales when the final reductions kick off - skinny, 2 inch. longer stuff :p Also used a few vouchers - both reward and conditional spend ones to stock up on the dine-in stuff and Nescafe (my local has stocked up on some of the brands that I regularly buy; so the current £5 off wys £25 coupons come in handy).

Have a good weekend, fellow MFWs :)

    Morning fellow MFWs,

I am coming out of lurkdom here :-) Glad to hear about Mr.T finding a new job and MrsT making a good progress healthwise, Mr. E making progress on the baby front, GG explaining the recent pension reforms, Froggy's second interview and ... I cannot possibly list out everything I read today morn, but it was nice catching up with my MFW friends :-)

From my side, we bought another house (nearer my place of work this time), hence the gigantic mortgage. DS2 has offers to study at his favourite Unis come Sep/Oct. All that remains is for us to tackle the mortgages - we'll do it little-by-little as the biggest financial priority so far (DS's Uni & school fees) will be rather small at the beginning of next academic year.

I have had a few spendy days and some NSDs so far this week. Have been buying fruit trees and planting them at our new place in the hope of gathering plenty of fruits in the years to come :-) Have a good day, everyone!

Welcome back US, very impressive mortgage figure :D

Congrats on the new house and on DS getting his favourie Uni place, bet you were all delighted

You've blitzed mortgages before and we know you can do it again so look forward to reading about it

There's some covert ground clearance going on a place about a mile away from me, local rumour is that it's going to be a new small housing development but can't seem to find out much about it. If rumour proves to be true i'd be very interested so could be joining you in the increasing mortgage club :o

    Regards

    I suppose at least it doesn't start with a 4 :D.

Good to see you back :T.

Hi US, glad to hear your news.

Mortgage may be large but you'll soon make inroads.

Good to hear about your DS - that's really lovely and you must all be delighted.

    Best wishes Tilly x

    Hi friends

Made my first OP towards the new mortgage:) I am trying to be :A spending-wise but then one foray into the Grabbit board spoilt everything, but then I have added a few more pieces to my Portmeirion seconds collection!

Looking forward to sunny weather over the holiday weekend so that I can do some weeding and gardening. 10 courgette seedlings are waiting to be planted out; As I bought these seeds from a 99p store (4 seed packets for 99p) I thought only 2 or 3 might sprout, but then all of them have germinated. Fortunately, I gave half the packet to a colleague.

My 10 courgette plants going strong, yes 10 of them  So, in the coming weeks courgettes for breakfast, lunch and dinner! and some to share with neighbours and colleagues.

So very chuffed today as I bought a KR casserole pan in very good condition for just a quid from a bootsale - have been looking for one for quite sometime. Also got a set of 4 Prestige lifetime copper bottomed pans with teak handles for £2. So, I have put away some of my well-used and still clean saucepans for the CS.

The weather has been good today, so have done a bit of gardening - putting up supports for the peonies and planting the last of the dahlia and lily bulbs. GYO this year is bare minimal as most of my tomato, chilli and cucumber plants did not survive the recent wet weather - so only courgettes, peas and beans.

Have a good and relaxing Sunday everyone. :)
