  • Good Morning!

Hoping to have a NSD today. I have the 'get £25 wys £25' at H@rvey N winking at me through the 4square-Amex deal. Anyway it is valid until 1st Oct. Will try to wait until then.

Have a good day everyone :)

  • Hi US,
Yet again some good home growns from your garden. It always tastes better from the garden not to mention the savings.

Ignore the Harvy Nicks offer... spending is what they want you to do!

  • Hi all,

I just couldn't resist the HN offer - went and got gift vouchers. Happy as I got message saying £25 refunded to my card. Yay! Free Christmas present for someone - they put the vouchers in a fancy envelope and do a very nice wrapping for free.:)

I have just recently started doing the £co mobile check-in. I was able to do about a quid worth of check-in in a matter of minutes at the shopping centre. So, may be worthwhile doing these when you are in the city to do your shopping/window shopping. I know it is only a few pence, but this can be repeated every 2 months or so.

On the veggie garden front, dug up a few spuds and they were nice. I had planted a few of the Albert Bartlett purple potatoes which had sprouted before I could use them up (bought them from MrS) and they are really cute and look so very colourful when roasted.

    Have a good day, everyone!

A few pence better in your pocket! I'm hoping the iphone 4S will come down in price. Then I'll be £co-ing on the go too!!!

Do shop bought spuds really have greater problems with disease like I'm led to believe by the gardening experts? I've always bought specific chitting potatoes for planting but often wondered why not an ordinary supermarket bought?

MRN, no need for a snazzy phone for that. I use an outdated Google phone (a castaway from my brother in US).

So far I have always grown spuds from supermarket bought pots. I have even planted small pieces with only a small gouge around the sprouted area IYKWIM and they have still grown and we have harvested spuds out of them.

Yeah but you do need to have an android phone. My current phone is neither but I've been enjoying the cheap sim only contract for a while now.

Well no more wasting money on chitting spuds now... I'm going to try sprouting regular eating spuds. Thanks for the tip. I wonder if it works with garlic too?

  • Hi, definitely works with garlic. I do this every year for every day garlic, and then buy elephant garlic cloves plant, which I use for roasting on special occasions.

I have never had a problem with shop bought garlic and doing this.

  • Sorry I am reading from the bottom up so missed the £co check in stuff. Mr T does that on his phone wherever we go. It all helps

Great... I'll plant the garlic sets we have for this year and see if it well replant and grow next year.
