My brother is travelling around Australia and manged create a £451 bill .... With that his account was barred due to over usage. I contacted them on my brothers behalf and my parents and I choice to keep the br on his account so too stop any more crazy bills.
The customer advisor told me we couldnt take the bar off as I would need to contact a different department so we assumed the bar would stay on.
My brother starts using an Australian pay and go sim card and stops using Vodafone.
We receive marchs Bill today for 1 month of £11,750 ....... I contact them and ask them one how the hell this could be and two why the bar was taken off.
they tell me they took the bar off after I asked them not too and they say tht is th bill amount but have convently no record of our online conversation all though the advisor confirmed he had copied the conversation onto the accounts notes. I hadn't printed anything off as I was working and couldn't.
This is all regarding data
Time to contact our solicitors ..... Any advice

If he stopped using the VF sim and only used the Auz payg then the data charges could well be from before the bar was put on. Data from overseas operators does not appear on you bill instantly.beckyminime wrote: »..My brother starts using an Australian pay and go sim card and stops using Vodafone.

What sort of phone does he have and do you have any idea what he may have been accessing on the net?
In Auz the data charges are £3/mb for the 1st 5 then £15/5mb per day (UK time). At best £11750 gives you 2350mb which is a lot unless you are streaming video which uses about 2mb/min, plus uploading high res pictures onto Facebook can be another 1.5-2mb per go.IT Consultant in the utilities industry specialising in the retail electricity market.

And what's the point in keeping posting the same in numerous places on the same board and ignoring the replies already posted earlier? Its a huge concern! I'm try to get help!!!
What help do you expect to get by keeping posting very little information in many places - instead of getting more information and posting it?
Get itemisation of the charges with the dates.
A phone on it's own is unlikely to use that big amount of data.
Either your brother used it before the bar was placed (and then removed apparently) and the account was charged later because of the delay normal for roaming, or your brother has not learned the lesson and kept having fun with his phone after the bar was placed (and then removed).0 -
You only need to post once. I've answered you in one thread and Vodafone have answered you in another thread in which you made the same post. I asked you a question about your problem and you didn't even bother to respond. Why do you feel the need to post the same thing multiple times in the same forum? You're not helping yourself here at all.beckyminime wrote: »How is this spam???? Its a huge concern! I'm try to get help!!!0 -
I hadn't realised it was spam so apologies but wasn't expecting you too be so rude about it.
I had posted it 4 times because I thought more ppl would read it giving me more information.
Also I'm slow on this forum so I haven't found all the responses
I have contacted Vodafone thank you
I was hoping that anybody that have had this happen to them could shed some light nothing more but it seems this thread seems to be looking for an argument or problem more than anything.0 -
Nobody has been rude. Posting it four times resulted that you annoyed more people rather than more people helping you.beckyminime wrote: »I hadn't realised it was spam so apologies but wasn't expecting you too be so rude about it.

You sitll haven't answered the question I asked in your other thread after I took the trouble to help you.0 -
The upshot is he's used it so he is going to have to pay it or whoever the name the account is in will have to pay it.0

beckyminime,i understand your concerns, i think im aware of your brothers account..... if its the account im thinking of, there are notes on the account that document whats happened, so it should be easy for Lee/Heidi to give you a breakdown of events. apologies that i cant give any info out on here.
Has your brother given vodafone authority for you to talk regarding the accout? if your name along with a security password/pin number has been set up you should be ok. if not then i urge your brother to do so. (i know its easier typed than done, but its data protection law, and i dont want you to have a wasted phone call.). i hope you get this resolved shortly.does my bum look big in this sig?0
