Sealed Pot Challenge 5 ~ Part 2

  • Hello again everyone, hope you are all well :)

As im a newbie to this saving lark, i decided to think hard about where my hard earned pennies were going!
So i made a few changes and am so pleased to say that we are hardly noticing a difference to daily life.

We have stopped using the bus for school and work each day = £10.80 saved a week
Have decided on next payday to pay a set amount of money (not sure how much yet) into savings account and budget and live off the rest for the month. If the money is transferred first, i wont miss it will i?

Tried a small shop at Aldi and was shocked at the massive difference in prices compared to others stores with all thier pretty packaged brands. Amazed at the quality of products we bought and fussy hubby didnt complain!. :) (some bits are yet to be eaten). Im actually quite excited at the thought of doing my first "big shop" there. Need to remember my carrier bags so i dont end up paying for thiers (very frugal of me ;) )

Also been at work a lot, so lots of pennies earned and none spent. Took bank card to work so hubby couldnt spend whilst i was out!! :D

Im really enjoying this challenge and love reading this thread, you all sound like lovely genuine people. Will no longer be a serial lurker and will try and visit most days.

    Good evening everyone
Just popping in to report a whopping 2p roadkill!

I hope you had a great holiday Lc2 and feel better soon.

When is this weather going to improve?? They've turned off the heating at school now and my room is freezing and I've got another cold! I can't help but feel that a bit of warm sun might make me feel much better!

Hope you are all keeping well :)

Just to say that although I haven't posted I have still put money away, by my calculations just over £1200 so far in money saved by getting free cinema tickets, surveys done and free bingo wins.

I love to come and have a look at the way people get their money to pot, so just keep on potting peeps xxx

Hi Queenriderbrekke are you an Anne McCaffrey fan by any chance?

I'm pleased to see the split ticket app/site is up. Looking forward to when it covers advance fares so I won't have to sit there with an Excel sheet trying to work out all the permutations!

I'm looking forward to using this too - and I love the name! Ticketysplit! :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:

Welcome back LC2 hope you feel better soon :)

I potted £2 today for going to the gym, I owe Patrick the pot another £1 for tonight but I've run out of change so I'll put that in when I get some.

Night night all, keep up the good work

Ah I am glad to be back. I am proud of my savings but not that my job went so I am now temping.....perm job required. Hopefully my savings will only be effected by £500 this month!

I am so suprised I had reason to use my sunglasses this morning....but I had put them in my room as I thought I would have no reason to need them!

Keep shaking my tin! It is getting heavy and to know it is all £1 £2 and the occasional note is so satisfying!:T
