It's never too late to join us, carlyfluck. A warm welcome aboard and have fun saving. biggrin.gif You'll find your number at the bottom of the list on post 4 of page 1. Please read through the 1st post as it'll let you know exactly how the challenge works.

    * Please pop your number on your sig, it really helps.

Hiya LC 2!!! It's so good to see you back with us......

.......you too, sparky! I'm so pleased you've both had good holidays (though in truth I didn't even know you'd gone, sparky! :o) and that you enjoyed Lionel Richie, sparks. Did he bring his crisps 'n all?! I do love his voice. Good to hear the spreadsheet is ready!

Well, I am happy to report that I have got all my Christmas presents sorted as of today, I've even got a new top to wear on Christmas day :D The turkey is on order so all I have left to do is stock up on food (which I am doing gradually week by week) so I'm probably the most organised I have been for years, and all thanks to the SPC challenge which has made me focus on things in plenty of time :T and not fritter away the pennies.

Flippin heck, little_sweetie, you're very well up together! Puts me to shame. :( Never mind I'll get a wriggle on at some point.

Banked a tragic £27.50 today - total of all my pots. Better luck next year, eh?

Please 166million, don't sound so down at what you've saved this year. You've saved and that's the most important thing!! That money will at least help you out and if you hadn't saved it, no doubt it would have got squandered. Be happy and look ahead to next year - debt-free!!!!! :T

Well done, Sal, keep popping it in.

All best wishes for you and your loved ones, jakes-mum, get well soon.

Good to see you've had your little treasures again, LC 2, one of life's upsides. ;)

Hi there nu1isit?, wonderful to see you back!! :j Sorry to hear about the illness within the family and I do hope they will all recover well. Superb news about the house move too, no doubt you'll soon have it looking great.

Another £10er in the pot for DH & I after shopping.

Have a lovely day, everyone, keep safe & healthy, keep saving well........just 14 Days to go!

  • Hi all - my sealed pot has been opened (well in truth it was never sealed) £432.43. I stopped in about August when my daughter came to live with me. That is when i did the count up and treated ourselves to an iPad. Was still dropping the odd bit of change in there looking forward to a final count up at end of month, but just looked in it this morning to see most of it gone! So decided to abort for the rest of this year! Anyway good luck to the rest of you for the remaining fortnight. I'll hopefully start again in January

Well after the previous raiding on my 'sealed pot' done by my missus I asked her to leave it alone in future. So when I got back home to chuck another couple of £2 coins in it I wasnt' impressed to find she'd raided it again! Back to the start we go again! I think I'll hide it from now on!
  • Hi all,

Weekend is getting close and I really cannot wait to lie in on Saturday.

I also have some fantastic news - my DD is expecting twins :j :j :j :j :j! She and her hubby nearly fell through the floor when the doc told them at their first scan yesterday. Nadia, the youngest one, looked at the scanned pic they sent us and called them "Space Invader 1" and "Space Invader 2". I suppose that will do for the moment! I will have to save really hard next year as everything will be doubled up :( ! I was so excited when I spoke to her last evening that I forgot to ask whether they are likely to be identical or not. I am not sure how the doc can tell.

What a year 2013 will be. Luckily I get an extra 2 weeks sabbatical leave next year and I am sure DD will be happy to have a helping hand when the kids arrive.

Have a great day all. I am absolutely useless to my boss today - you know where my head is at - definitely not work :D!

    Oh I plan to!

She hasn't raided my penny jar yet though so I might end up substituting that for my 'sealed pot' as my current 'pot' has only £4 in it thanks to my missus and her raiding! I'm pretty sure I'd have been well over £100 by now otherwise but nevermind! :o:D
  • Can i join in please?

No target in mind - not very good at saving and am trying to get myself sorted out (though could take a while!). Anything put in before opening day will just stay there for next year.

I think you need a proper sealed pot with a very narrow slot in it 'cos then she would have to use a knife to try to get the money out. It would take ages and you could probably catch her at it! :rotfl:Failing that I would take the pot to work every day lol...

Fantastic news about the twins SusanneCape! No wonder you are so excited!

Well I just popped in to say 45p potted today. I have given my tin a little shake and it feels about half full :j Roll on 29th November!
