I have been potting, honest! Just can't remember how much. I know I put £2 odd in the other day plus a couple of roadkill 5p's. My DD's car has started parking next to stray 20p coins, have to train it to search out bigger denominations. :rotfl:
    Hope everyone is well.
Hugs to those who need one.

    Evening all

well I have been potting my usual £1 per day and today I have another shiney £2 for my owls head, yay! and additional £3.68 for the cats head.

Budapest is indeed a great city, I went just after it ended communism and said I would go back for sure. Mind you, the hotel was a bit grim (not dirty just thin mattresses, massive old baths with plugs that didnt fit and limited hot water, undercooked bacon and eggs) but am sure all that, and more, has changed and the spas were fabo.

You will have a great time out there, wish I was going with you Sparky...

  • Evening all!

I don't really have anything interesting to post, I'm afraid :o It's been a really lean month (still is in fact) with loads of birthdays and anniversaries including my little GS's 5th birthday at the end of the month so I have been struggling to buy gifts and not much left over. However....:) today I found a lovely shiny 5p in town, then when I came home it was pouring with rain, such a novelty :D, and I decided to be good and give the bedroom a thorough clean to warm myself up. In amongst the dust under the bed were two dusty 20p pieces  so that's a grand total of 45p potted :T I am sure that I will be nowhere near my SPC target by November but it will be better than not having made the effort, that's for sure.

I have been trying to eke out the food budget too by cooking cheaper meals from scratch. Tonight I cooked a cider veggie hotpot which is my DH's favourite. I buy odd dented cans of cider when I see them and use them for cooking. A large hotpot is usually enough for 4 portions (or so I thought ...) so one each tonight and some left for tomorrow. I have just gone to do the washing up and  the dish is empty! The rascal has finished it off. I have warned him it's just a cheese butty tomorrow night now :naughty: I do, however, have enough ingredients to make cheese scones so if it's another wet day tomorrow I'll be baking.......;)

BTW poor you, susanne, what a horrible experience you have had. I'm so glad things seem to have worked out well (although expensive) in the end.

Have a lovely evening everyone x

  • just watching for the postman and waiting for freebies to arrive at the moment. At least you can commiserate me for selling stuff on amazon and ebay recently although not as much as I would have liked for as much as I would have liked. Lack of receipts to womble at the moment maybe they have cottoned on to the fact I do it and clean up after people now? Also lack of floor money. people seem to periodically drop money as there is only a constant stream for a week-10 days then its dries up for a while.

    Hi Everyone

I'm upset that you don't want two of me. Just think one of me could be on here writing words of wisdom and the other could be in Sparkyland gathering roadkill!!

You are right though DH could not cope!! He has trouble with me:rotfl::rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:

Well today has been a lot better only thing was I had been soo busy the last couple of weeks it's took me all day to catch up with the housework anyway it's all done and dusted Roast beef with all the trimmings and rhubarb crumble for dessert , So DH is a very happy bunny :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:

have put a whole £5 note in my pot as well so feeling very pleased with myself.

NU1ISIT What are you up to?? Nothing sinister I hope

though knowing you anything is possible.

SPARKY are you starting those dark days this week if so I just might visit Sparkyland a bit more often :rotfl::rotfl:

Cos you will be tucked up in bed :rotfl::rotfl:

    Hi LC2
Sorry hun, definitely on your DH's side I wouldn't want 2 of you roaming around causing havoc :rotfl: One's enough and we love her but we couldn't cope with two, my head would hurt :D
Hi Sue, yes, it really came down to saving cash, and a massive amount at that. I was in a head-on collision in South Africa 10 years ago (a drunk in a massive 4x4 pulled over into my lane) and suffered quite a lot of trauma to my face, resulting in my teeth becoming mobile sooner than expected. I was quoted £22,000 for my top gums here in the UK, and £6,400 in Budapest. The dentists in Budapest are extremely professional and I am loving my teeth. They have free pick up/drop off to and from the airport and the appointments and arrange hotel accommodation cheaper than if you booked it yourself. They also have rooms in London so any pre and post operative care can be sorted in the UK.

I just wish I could put the difference that I saved into my pot :D!!!

    All the best,

    SusanneCape
So sorry you had to find out the hard way how good the dentists are in Budapest. Hope you're mending well and your new teeth are giving you an amazing smile :D. You take care hun xx
