Android spam

Like I said, I installed "My Settings" 9 months ago and had no problems till recently. I still don't know if it is the culprit, but no spam this morning or since I removed it.
I probably had it set to automatic updates and the ad push could have been a recent addition. Certainly was not informed by the system that adpush was on any about-to-be-installed app.
I know that each app tells what it can/can't access but I haven't the time or inclination to go through each one. Much better to use the addon detector program and I recommend that all Android users install one of the free addon detector programs, just as basic as adding a anti-virus program and battery saver.
As I said in an earlier post, I would have preferred a preventer rather than detector, but the current one on offer only seem to work on rooted handsets.0 -

You buy the phone to enjoy not spend hours worrying about this kind of things.
I think that I may actually have a virus on my pc that has escaped my anti-virus program and it may have been picked up from the MSE site.
The symptoms are that every time an Android thread is started, useless spam from this Iphone fan site appears. Anyone else affected?0 -
..I suppose it depends where the OP has been using his gmail address

It's unlikely to be from use of my gmail address as my 2nd Android (on Orange) has the same gmail account and has had no problem. My Voda android differs only in the carrier, handset and later version of the Operating system.
No, I am convinced (at present) that it is app based spam.0 -
If you are new to android phones don't listen to pro- android users, you will never hear anything negative. Only thing you will hear is android don't have any malware, it's 100% perfect os etc
The android phones are cheap and do lot for your money.
Take the step to protect your phone from malware. The problem is real and it can cost you many £ if you are not careful and in the process give out personal info.
Search in google for malware android many websites have information on what to do.
Many malware send text messages
One of the useful link is below

am still quite amused by thegoodman's persistence when it comes to android malware but he never once reply to any thread about itunes fraud (which is even more common than android malware when you search on google)0

The link below will give you news for itune fraudam still quite amused by thegoodman's persistence when it comes to android malware but he never once reply to any thread about itunes fraud (which is even more common than android malware when you search on google)

Most uses will see that most cases are old or person have been found. Apple is at least doing something about it. The credit card fraud can happen to any company.
Why is google not catching them?
Is it because it makes money from their adverts?
Also let's not forget gmail fraud, the payment method used for android store.

"The android phones are cheap"? Sounds perfectly clear to me.
Yet another nonsense, at least for UK. Go to omio(.com) sim-free and filter 'android' . Then sort by price.most android phones are sub 100 to £150.
And even for PAYG is isn't even close to 'most'.0 -
love your work Igoodman0
