Thanks for that app, it's fantastic. Uninstalled an app myself which was causing some issues.

So once again the answer to a simple problem is pay thru the nose for an iphone!

Sometimes you get what you pay for. This issue probably stems from the fact that Android apps tend to rely more heavily on advertising for revenue rather than having a fixed initial cost like you'd more frequently find in the App Store.

Do these Android apps not tell you you will be spammed in the permissions list?

There are often two versions a paid for app and a free one, natually the free one will lack features or have advertising banners, ot is the same/similar on my ipod touch though

I can't say I've ever heard of iOS displaying spam notifications like the OP says he is experiencing with Android.

Yeah iOS 5 introduced a notification bar. Do you know if the app permissions in Android let you know beforehand that an app will spam you or is it a case of only knowing when it starts happening?

I have never experienced spam or malware symptoms to know, I have not updated the SE of the ipod touch, but I do notice when playing "move the box" that there is constant adverts running and the battery life is shortened somewhat. the only emails I have had on my gmail is from google for reminders etc, I suppose it depends where the OP has been using his gmail address :(
