No buying unnecessary toiletries in April - Challenge

Haven't posted for a while as I had a redundancy scare at work, all fine now as someone put in for voluntary redundancy so the rest of us are safe, however it did make me wonder if the items on my "to buy shortly list" should be substituted for cheaper products. For example I really wanted the L'Occitane almond shower oil as I have just uu up my small one but a large size is £25, which I am now thinking is a bit excessive for shower oil!
One IN a Benefit Tan about Town mini set as it had Hoopla bronzer which I wanted to try.
Tons of UUs, some really old splutterers.
Vaseline lip balm, wba plain & simple but does the job better than anything else.
Soap & Glory wonderfill wnba - didn't notice any difference
Girl meets Pearl Benefit small size, already replenished.
Body shop moisturising face mask, liked this at first but think a moisturising cream is just as effective and ended up repurposing as body cream.
Various Shampoos and conditioners UU so I am really starting to see a space in my drawers.Mortgage Dec 2015 - £21545 Apr 2016 - £19930

Also as Dh brings me arran aromatics goodies back from work travels I have made up some gifts to sell at church coffee mornings...mini soap/bath foam/shampoo and lotion wrapped in organza fabric with a base of a circle of card and some sisal for decoration and tied up with beads on wire(used some of my flower arranging stuff Dh was very impressed but just need to think how much to charge as mostly older people on pensions go there ...I said £3 and Dh said £5 or less so will have to show friends to see what they think...feeling all creative now:rotfl::rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:
Those gifts sound lovely, I not very creative with things like that I'm sure they'd look a mess if I did them.
Still no more UU, but have a few splutterers. No purchases this week so far, but can see me failing on Sunday.0 -
Hey all!
No more UU....
and 4 INs(and 3 more planned at some point with some creative couponing, I have 3 coupons burning a hole in my purse!)
3 x Lidl Osiris avise face wipes ~ 1x deep cleansing, 1x exfoliating, and 1x 3-in-1 all for 99p, worth a try anyway.
1x handmade African violet soap- smells amazing.
Opened a PRCP TBS wild cherry puree body lotion-it's fantastic! smells amazing and sinks in quickly.
Hugs to all.0 -

Totally agree about hoarding, it looked like a compulsion to have one of everything. I mean her liquid foundations will separate before she ever gets around to using them.
All I could think was major self-esteem issues and hell, she could have a downpayment on a condo with the cash she's invested.0 -
I know it's her business how she spends her money, but BLIMEY... I would have disabled comments for the video if I'd posted that, she must realise that most people will have a major dig.
I feel a lot better about my books, CDs, shoppers, mugs and teabags now! Plus since I started this challenge I've dispensed with some of those, as it does change your mind set.
(My latest bag is a small blue-grey and white rucksack from Primark and the latest tea is T*sco Finest Vanilla Chai, which is lovely. Haven't bought a mug for a little while now)Erma Bombeck, American writer: "If I had my life to live over again... I would have burned the pink candle, sculptured like a rose, that melted in storage." Don't keep things 'for best' - that day never comes. Use them and enjoy them now.0 -
