You will need:
16oz  of distilled water  (but i always forget to buy it so use ordinary water)

Essential oil/fragrance of your choice.

1 packt of  gelatin

Food coloring (optional)

Heat half of water almost to a boil. Add the gelatin and stir until dissolved. Remove from heat add other half  of  water, 10-20 drops of oil/fragrance, and food coloring if desired.

Pour the mixture into clean baby food jars and set at room temperature overnight until "set". You can place the jars in the refrigerator if you need them to set more quickly, but be aware that the smell will permeate the fridge.
;D
works out about 12p for a glade sized jar

and lasts the same  and works the same

I can't wait to try this one out but hubby is getting gelatin through work so it will take a week or so!

I've also go several dozen fragrance oils left over from my business if anybody wants one (all fruity/sweet 'flavours') just make me an offer - I'm more than happy to do swaps for other free samples or bits you might have lying around ;D

I'm going to try this one out :) Think I'll also stick one in the car in one of the cup holders so it doesn't roll around!

Gelatin... is this another name for Glycerin? Not sure I know what gelatin is although it sounds a bit like jelly! ???

gelatin is exactly that VG - the jelly bit of jelly!!

you can buy it in sheets or powder form - there is a vegatarian version that is made of (I think) pectin from fruit stones rather than from the insides of ground up animal bones

you can probably buy it near all the cake making stuff in supermarkets but it's probably cheaper to buy online if you want it in bulk

it's not glycerin though as far as I am aware

by the way a tea spoon of vinegar for every box of gelatine used firms up the gel and stops it melting in the heat

I know several people who buy candles that come in those lovely glasses, they keep the glasses as it seems a shame to bin them, they are more than happy to pass them on to you! If they go well/or you're feeling generous you could give them an air freshener, i'm getting a few glasses together before i make mine!!
