I've dated someone younger, it was a catastrophe. He was 19, I was 22-23, and though the age gap wasn't huge, it was noticeable. He had never had a job, I worked all hours in a residential home; he was supplied with money via monthly direct debits from his parents, plus they paid his rent and gave him extra for food, I funded my own activities. And his usually. He was terrible for forgetting his wallet. He was a terrible immature 19, I was a terribly mature 22. I think it depends on the actual age of the people involved. Maybe if I was 30 and he was 27 it would have felt different.

Now I'm with my lovely fiance, who is 14 years older than me. We're so much closer in what we want to do and where we want to be in our lives.

Our greatest weakness lies in giving up; always try just one more time

A woman at work in her mid 50's has been trying to hang on to a 25 year old. She's just ridiculed behind her back, whereas she thinks she's being 'cool'. In her case she just appears ridiculous - particularly as she thinks she looks as if she's in her 30's... which she certainly doesn't! Unfortunately the 25 year old appears to think the same as the rest of us...

I think the age difference matters less as you each grow older?

I went out with someone 9 years older than me - was ok at first but the age gap became a problem (for him - he seemed to think that his age gave him permission to call all the shots!) Then I met DH who is 15 years younger than me - although apparently I look younger than my years so we don't get pointed at whe we walk down the street!

No complaints from me - I did worry about the gap initially - but I think it's more down to personalities than numbers!
    :j Almost 2 stones gone! :j

My wife is 11 years older than me.
Been together 4 years, married 3. She has 2 kids from first marriage and we have 2 little one's together.
The age gap does bother her at times, she worries about embarrassing me, but that wont happen, she's beautiful.
When we first met I thought she was telling me a fake age (older) to put me off lol.
We get on great and to be honest I never think about the age gap.
Most people I tell love the idea of having a !!!!!! lol.

Age is just a number. It has no bearing on who you are.
