My now ex husband was 10 years older than me and he constantly moaned about aching joints and i wouldnt know as i am younger.
He was always saying about our children that in his day he wouldnt have had all these treats, games etc. in my day (Blah, Blah, Blah). He never worked for seven years as he was worn out (his words) bad back. I worked 50 hours a week to support our family.
Comments like you dont need new shoes they will last about 50 years. in my day (Blah, Blah, Blah)
when we split he was 46 and me 36. we were miles apart.0 -
My OH is 4 years younger, only con is he doesnt feel the pressure of age yet (im about to turn 30 so want to move in together and have a baby etc, he wants it to but is happy to take our time). Other than that its fab as we have so much fun.

Been together almost 3 years, in fact we're getting married on our 3yr anniversary this year.carpe diem

I'm currently with someone who is 10 years older although we're not happy and the relationship has come to the end of its life.
I've become quite close to a much younger guy (nothing at all has happened) he's 20 (I'm 31) but he's a lot older than his years, in fact sometimes he is more mature than 41 year old OH!
So I dont know, that could be interesting but whether I could keep up with him - pass!*The RK and FF fan club* #Family*Don’t Be Bitter- Glitter!* #LotsOfLove ‘Darling you’re my blood, you have my heartbeat’ Dad 20.02.200 -
MrsLA is 8 years younger than me. We never really think about the difference. Occassionally something will come on the tv and I'll say 'Do you remember that?' and she'll roll her eyes and say 'No, dear, I was 5'.0

MrsLA is 8 years younger than me. We never really think about the difference. Occassionally something will come on the tv and I'll say 'Do you remember that?' and she'll roll her eyes and say 'No, dear, I was 5'.otherwise i think the main thing that are cons are as someone else has said, when she is reminising about something and some of the time it is about something that happened before i was born, or something equally as strange such as when she got married the first time it was the same year i started primary school
:rotfl:yes the reminissing, when my husband says listen to this song and I can remember it first time around. When we talk about what programmes we watched after school and I say er no I was at work. When we watch old music programmes and he says did you used to dance like that? Still do when I've had a few too many.
When recalling where you were on 'this day in history' I was on holiday in a caravan with my (then) boyfriends family when Elvis died, I was going Christmas shopping when I heard that John Lennon was shot, I was at a street party in Reading when Charles and Diana got married. My husbands only contribution to this conversation is erm dunno I was 'playing out'
Watching the TV programme Life on Mars together was interesting :rotfl:The most potent weapon of the oppressor is the mind of the oppressed. Steve Biko0 -
We're going to have a good year next year.
All the 0's. My 50, hubby's 40, eldest sons 30. Should be interesting!

I was married to a toyboy. He died. Ruddy toyboys, no lasting power.
Am now seeing someone 11 years older. Was surprised to find that he's more energetic (in ahem, all areas). I have trouble keeping up with him! Was definitely not expecting that.0 -
Yes, I've got one of those! I hate the term but toyboy though. I've been with my bf for 3 years and have lived with him for 1 and a half years. I am 44 and he is 21. Ups and downs as in any relationship but nothing specific relating to age. I say go for it and see what happens!:j0

It's a difficult one.
When DH has been out with one of our grown up daughters, shop assistants have assumed they were an item. He's laughed it off but said to me afterwards that the idea of being with someone young enough to be his daughter just made no sense to him. He couldn't see that they'd have similar interests or shared background of memories etc. I suppose it does depend on your 'mental' age.
On the other hand, I have loads of close friends and colleagues who are years older/younger than me and we get on really well.
Perhaps we should start a 'sugar daddy' thread? There's a lot more logic in that!0
