Did you see it running in the other car? If you did then it's even more likely that the garage is doing something wrong.[/QUOTE]

£700 for an engine with only 5 day guarantee and that was taken out of a car - but you didn't ask to see it running? Ouch.

If you want some useful advice then you need to stop drip feeding information and start answering some of the questions people have asked to try to help you.

Stuff like, what was wrong with the original engine and what does the garage say is wrong with this one. Or, how about, is it the same garage that can't get this one to work that told you that the old engine was beyond help?

    Back to you.....

(START AFRESH) 4 weeks ago my hubby was at work his car just cut out.he got the aa out that took him to a garage close to us this garage stipped the car down a found one of the cylinderhead valves had snapped and damaged the pot.he adviced that the car needed a new engine.and could we get one.but he would pick it up for us and fit it. the garage had to take the car up to another garage because he didnt have the tools to do this big job.(his mate)this was a week 3 weeks ago.(so now the cars at another garage) but this garage had quit a bit work in so we had to wait a few days for him to start are car.we expected the car back a week gone yesterday(thursday but when the garge has finished putting the engine in the car wouldnt start he changed bits a peice on the engine and still would not start the last thing he did was a compression test that came back with no compression at all in any of the pots
i hope ive explain it a bit clear now thanks

What year is your car? And what year was the car the engine came out of?

Did you fit it complete with clutch and gearbox or used your clutch/box?

Problem is have the garage actually said whats wrong with the engine? Or did they mis-diagnose the original fault?

    What was the original fault?

Errr OK this has been going on since October 2010???
