It's not going to be as simple as that, you're going to have to prove that it arrived late. This guy Giddens was lucky in that there was a postal strike so everyone accepted the letter could not have arrived on time as the postmen did not go back to work untiil such and such date.

You try proving to court that a letter arriving on your doormat 15, 16 17 days.... actually did arrive on the day it did. I doubt you will get very far. One thing you should do is write on the envelope the date it arived, another would be to grab the postman and ask them to do the same.

As the Defendant, you can give evidence under oath to say that it did not drop on to your doormat until after day 14. Of course, it's up to the Magistrates whether or not they decide to accept it.
  • It happened on Thursday 29th March. Still nothing in the post so this means I'm clear. Unless the Easter break has delayed it.

There are no allowances for Easter breaks, or Christmas, or bad weather, or postal strikes. Looks like good news. Assuming you are the Registered Keeper. And the address on the V5 is correct. And there hasn't been a recent keeper change.

If you are doing say 33mph on a 30mph road they give you 10% +2mph so you would be okay upto a maximum of 35mph. I tend to stick bang on the limit anyway as I don`t trust speedometers 100 %

They don't have to. I'm sure there is a force parts of wales where doing 31 will get you done. Might be same one that hides cameras in horse boxes.
  • I had a go with a tripod mounted laser, it will have you before you know they are there, with the built in video camera is all the evidence they need.
Nothing to see here, move along.
