I would hang fire with FOS if I were you, the wait there could be up to a year or more, give Tesco a bit more time.
Tesco have to send you a final response letter before you can take this to FOS.0 -
DWell, I'm into week 14 and still no closer to getting a response. Still being told it's with quality checking. However last week I was told that if it's with quality checking I'm probably due a payout and this is why they are checking it. I'm in the process of sending my paperwork to the FOS though as this is taking the .......
Thanks for the updat ignite I hope you dont have to wait to much longer, it does sound as though your complaint is going to be upheld good luck...0 -

Nope, my applications for the loans were done over the phone. A lot of companies are trying to use the get out of you ticked the box online.0 -

I am holding fire at the moment. However, this advice you have given is not correct. I could make a complaint to the FOS at any point after 8 weeks with or without a final response letter as this is the cut off point for giving the company time to respond.
Once Tesco have sorted out their act and responded, I'll probably make a complaint to the FOS about Tesco's conduct regardless of whether I get refunded or not as Tesco have breached FOS guidelines as they did not contact me at the 8 week point to inform me that they needed more time (as required by the FOS). They also failed to inform me of my rights to take it to the FOS after 8 weeks (again required by FOS).0 -

I applied online however I didn't tick the box for ppi, I had to call Tescos as they wanted me to confirm some details and it was during this conversation they recommended I take ppi..my main reason for missel though is the fact it was front loaded.....0 -
Although this is technically true, anyone complaining to FOS at this point can only complain that they haven't had a reply of any description. Waiting for a "full and final" (rejection) response, on the other hand, has more chance of success since it can then be effectively contested by the complainant.I could make a complaint to the FOS at any point after 8 weeks with or without a final response letter as this is the cut off point for giving the company time to respond.
So Amersall has given good tactical advice.
Good luck with the complaint to FOS about Tesco not replying, the most you can expect from that would be an apology that they were inundated with PPI complaints.0 -

Yep, but at least I would know that the FOS had charged Tesco for this.0 -

Finally, an offer came in the post today. Just under £5500. Just got to send off the acceptance form now and wait for the cheque. I cross checked their offer and it seems to be about right.0 -
