Do I complain to seller?

Last week I won an item on eBay, which from the title appeared to be exactly what I wanted.

Having received it today, I realised that it was only part the item given in the title. Sure I can still use it, but I'd optionally need the other parts to get best enjoyment and use out of it.

Now do I complain to the seller or not?

It depends on what it actually said in the auction. If the auction stated you were getting xxx and you only got x then complain and also report them to ebay. If the auction text says x and you got x then you can't really complain.

If you want there are several sellers on here who would be happy to look at the auction for you and give more specific advice. You can pm any of us privately if you don't want to share the auction number openly.

It is hard to give an opinion as I don't know exactly what it said in the description, but if it did not state what you get clearly in the description I would send them a email.

Sounds like a "Batteries Not Included" issue with an Adult Toy. :rotfl:

But seriously folks.... As commented above, to pass an opinion, one would need to see the listing in question. :D

its not one of those mp3 players is it?
I saw one just recently that said something like 1gb mp3 player, but when you read down the description it said onboard memory 0GB meaning you had to buy that seperately before it would work. Bit like saying 3GB ddr pc for sale, no memory included

    Thanks for the replies.

Ok, this is the complete item I wanted - http://www.play.com/play247.asp?page=title&r=XBOX&title=113712 and the title was identical to this.

What I received was just the unused subscription code, the description didn't mention the other items, but it seemed to me that he was stating the 12 months subscription code was untouched.

Did the description say that you would get the starter kit? If yes, complain to them.

agree with heather... if it said "kit" then it's a bit cheeky

If..... The Title was XBOX LIVE STARTER KIT (implying the full kit)

If the description of goods was..... Twelve Months X-BOX Live Card New and Unused (implying the card only)

If the postage was..... £2.95 (implying the full kit)

If there was no image of the goods..... worrying

A dodgy one me thinks, and my gut feeling says that the item was not intended to mislead, however, mislead it certainly did. That said, if that were the description of the goods, it's clear it's not a kit.

think I've found the one you bought. ~removed~

I've got to agree with you that it implies that he's just stating that the card is unused and the title suggests the kit (as well as the price!). IMO you should definitely complain
