A quick heads up to people if you get the job like me you may be put on the "job that no one wants" and it's horrendous believe me I can't move after my shift its that bad and I can't physically do the process fast enough and if you ask to change due to struggling it's do the job or leave so make sure this is what you really want yes money it good but at what cost to you just my experience at jlr

Benbb did you ask if you can move and they said like it or leave basically?

I have just been skimming through this thread and have to smile at some of the misconceptions that people are under.
JLR probably now employs over 10000 production associates (track rats).
New starters are at the bottom of a very big pile and unless they are female with a nice smile or know the right person they WILL get either the worst jobs (with minimal chance of being moved) or find themselves being moved from one job to another to cover absences.
Yes, the money is good but that is the one and only reason to apply for the job, so as long as you know what you are applying for good luck to all who have applied.

A lot is down to luck. Some will fall on easier jobs than others. I was fortunate and landed in BIW which is generally easier than assembly.

The money is the only reason I do any job and I don't know many more places that pay this good for unskilled factory work.
This tax year (half on 90% and half on 92.5%) with a mix of 3 shifts and nights I'm grossing around £36,500.

    Sorry, I'm at CB.

We only hear rumours. Last we were told for CB intake was 800 around Oct/Nov and people who got through the process now would be given the choice of starting at Solihull or waiting for the CB intake if that is where they wanted to go. But then someone posted here that Manpower had told them there was an intake soon (before Solihull) so who knows.

    Very frustrating I know.

You get this after the interview , it doesn't mean you have passed though . I think it's more of a automated email. I phone them up a few days later and they told me it was now out of man powers hands and to wait for jlr to get in touch . I couldn't wait so I emailed jlr Solihull directly , I got a answer back in like 30 mins saying I'd passed and to wait on a start date. That was now 3 weeks ago and I've phoned manpower every 3/4 days for updates on start dates , nothing yet . Rumours are its middle of April . This is so frustrating. You have to chase them up on everything otherwise you'll get nowhere haha . Take that advice
