Free advice is available every minute of every day, eg. Youtube, How to guides, B&q detailed guides ,demonstrations , Wickes how to leaflets etc ,these guides, like this forum expand peoples knowlegebase you still have to do the job YOURSELF !
If its in your destiny you will find your way to this forum as many have , if not you were never meant to! Nothing to do with intentionally disadvantaging other people. Its called Destiny.
Everyones entitled to there views on the forum,
An issues was raised, discussed , opinions sort/ given,
Now its time to draw a line under this matter and re-focus our energys, back to the matter in hand.
Good Luck to everyone !
I think the biggest issue was someone lying by saying there was more to the assesment than what is written on here. Then charging vulnerable people £20 quid. But i calld him out on it. It's done and dealt with and lets all move on, I do think however the video should be taken down. but lets move on
Anybody have any questions regarding the process?0 -
Ok so I have been pointed to this forum by a few very unhappy people who applied for the jlr jobs and failed the manual assesments.
Im from a recruitment background and want to just offer some simple advice.
1) Equal opportunities and selections law. Applies to all uk business and recruiters. If you are employed by Manpower or JLR and giving the details about the assesment day as I have read here you are inderectly breaking this law for your employer and there bringing the company into disripute which is a sackable offence.
2) Is it morally right? NO this isnt a research tool its more of an answer sheet (given it doesnt mean youll pass the test just gives you a very big advantage over people who didnt use this "research tool"). You cant have two students who both study the same 5 subjects and say to one their is a test tomorrow and tell the other one you have a maths test tomorrow and here is and exam paper. Both candidates will have the same time to complete the test but candidate two will clearly be more likely to score higher (he may not even have to waste any time reading the questions!).
3) When manpower and jlr sat down to discuss the recruitment im sure their main objective was to find the best people for the jobs not the best researched. Trying to justify it as research or destiny is ridiculous, not suprising to see most people justifying are still in the recruitment process and simply want the answers for the next stage.
4) If this was meant to be public information im sure manpower/jlr would have given these graphic details of the exercises to all candidates prior to the assesment.
5) Bigden you say this detail is just to help nervous people out to give them an insight. My friend let me tell you assesment days are meant to be nerve wracking its the whole idea to see how people work under pressure and deal with it.
By posting here you have potentially scr""ed many people out of getting jobs as so many people may have passed the assesment using this "research tool" that may have performed much worse if it was not for the information they had prior to the assesment. There will also be other people who are behind in the recruitment que due others scoring higher due to this added advantage.
My advice would be to simply STOP posting here as if you really believe that manpower and jlr have not been informed about this thread then you must be more stupid then I imagined.
My understanding is that screen shots of the whole thread have been sent to manpower and jlr so dont be suprised if you get called into the office and find out that you have just talked yourself out of a job.
So to put it simple the moral of the story is dont sh*t on the hand that feeds you.

Hi Bigden,
Have been following this thread for a while now. Received an email from Manpower yesterday stating that I have now all stages of the recruitment process, but I have to wait until they will get in touch with me as they are reviewing my overall performance.
As I noticed in one of your previous posts you experienced the same thing, was just wondering how long your were waiting in between each stage and are you aware of any mistakes you made (e.g. during manual assesment).
Thanks
Ive had this same email....still waiting a week on! how long till they get back to you form this???0 -
I'm in exactly the same boat TAF!! I think we just have to sit tight and wait until we hear something back, hopefully positive news!!0
-
I phoned them, apparently it can take upto 28 days for them to get back at this stage0
-
Well lets just try and stay positive for now then!! At least we haven't had a rejection call or email back. Fingers crossed we'll hear something back sooner that that though. I reckon they'll be taking people on fortnightly after each batch has been trained up.0
