  • I had an interview last Wednesday and am pretty confident that I'm waiting for a start date, but how long are most people waiting for a call? Thanks in advance

you pay is as follow 1 year manpower 70% next year jlr temp contract 70% next year 80% next year 90% next year 92.5% next year 95% that's it stop's there you will never be on 100% like the long timers i have work at halewood now for over 3 half year's i got in on the reserve list so if they ask you do you want to go on this say yes then phone them once a month to see. as a lot of people leave hope this help's you all

Hi everyone. Currently on PERA training. About to do maths and English tests. I see the folder has the same questions as we had at the pre start induction.
Ok with English but maths not my strong point. Think I was ok with the taxi fare one but would appreciate any help with the pizza question . Am I right in thinking one was a bit of a catch and you have to use 2 as 1 won't be enough of the ingredient?
Many thanks to anyone that can help :o

Hi everyone, enjoyed reading through all the pages, got I dilemma though that input would be nice please.
Been working my notice in current job and due to start new job on Monday. If I am being honest it's similar to what I do now but closer to home.
Had a call today from manpower offering me a start date at halewood on 4th sep in the paint section(think she said) on the 3 day shift.
Date than changed to 25th sep.
I want the jag job and happy to wait but it's going to be seven weeks unpaid.. Might be able to scrape by on savings but the other half is worried about waiting if something changes.
Main question is I have been offered and accept the position over the phone but they will not send an email out until the factory is back up and running to confirm, how confident can I be that now I have been offered I have actually got a jag job?
I can take the easy option and start other job on Monday or wait for jag? But need to let this new job know ASAP if that's the case.
    Thanks.

I think they have basically took the cream off the top of the 10,000 applicants so they want the ones they have offered the jobs to, I have had to delay my start date and they were great about it so it may be worth ringing and asking if yours could be brought forward, not everyone who says yes actually starts.

Hi everyone, would just like to ask for few opinions please.

I had my final interview just under 2 months ago and "successfully completed all stages of the application process" and I'm quite confident I did did well in both the manual assessment and the interview itself.

In the interview I informed them I had 2 week holiday booked for the end of August, does anyone think this could be the reason I'm still waiting for a start date??

Telling them you cancelled yer holidays should help!
I'd chase them up with a call and show persistence.
  • Hi my husband had an interview middle of July for i54 with talk of start date in October. Anyone in similar position? Any ideas when he can expect to hear either way? Thanks

I have a Halewood induction day next week at 6 am prior to a start the following week, any idea how long it lasts/ what it consists of? i'm driving back from a holiday for a day and it's a fair old drive

The induction day involves a couple of presentations by senior JLR staff,, a meeting with the union, form filling and then getting your gate passes. It usually finishes by about 2 to 2-30.
