Hi everyone, would just like to ask for few opinions please.

I had my final interview just under 2 months ago and "successfully completed all stages of the application process" and I'm quite confident I did did well in both the manual assessment and the interview itself.

In the interview I informed them I had 2 week holiday booked for the end of August, does anyone think this could be the reason I'm still waiting for a start date??

Yeah, i think it's the reason! I did my final interview 8 days ago and i got a call today for my start date! the girl who called me asked if i had any holidays booked between now and December,, when i said "no" she said "good, we can offer you sept 2nd to start at solihull" I made it clear at the interview that i had no holliers booked!
I honestly think if you had nothing booked, you would have had a start date!

I don't think the holidays makes a difference because at the interview I was asked if I had any pre booked holidays I said no and on my PERA training I was asked even if you said you haven't got any holidays booked in the interview stage have you got any holidays booked now so we can write them down before you go on the track them you can't get your allocated holidays.

So IF you had said you HAD holidays booked at the interview, you would still have got a start date???. sounds like they double check when you start!! Coz when i was called, the girl wouldn't have give me a start if i had holidays booked!!...Anthonyleigh said he had holidays booked still waits 2 months, and i who didnt have holidays booked gets a start after 8 days!!

How do holidays work at jlr? I know that you have factory shutdown are these all you have and does anyone know when these are?
  • Cheers lads, spoke to someone from Manpower today and apparently holidays declared at the interview do have a bearing on your start date. There is a "hot list" of applicants stating holidays and notice periods for their current employers which they go through before phone calls are made.

I've told them my holiday is cancelled now (although it isn't but I'll cross that bridge if and when I get to it) so hopefully that will speed up the process and I'll get a call soon.

Anyone next the next new starter start?
