Hi guys, I started back in May in Halewood, I was on the back up list for nearly 2 years and got brought in with only about 12 others on X shift to fill a specific place, because the group leader went to India to train people, I'm on engine dress where many new people have appeared then not long after, disappeared, been moved presumably... We haven't exactly got plenty of people, our spare keeps getting taken off us and is covering holidays too a lot, so we very rarely have a spare person and the GL is covering the jobs mostly... Everything in there is just rumour, I don't think Manpower know anything about how many will be kept on, if any, and they probably don't care in the slightest as long as they're earning off us and get no complaints about their people...... The problem in engine dress is when the new car starts production the Freelander is ending, and that's the difficult engine to do on a lot of jobs on my line where the new engine is almost the same as the Evoque so it actually is just a case of not giving them a reason to put you higher on the list of people who will go first & hope for the best.
Personally I'm not banking on being kept on even though I have a perfect record so far and haven't made a mistake or have any downtime what wasn't caused by someone before me, so I'm just saving as much as I can just in case I don't survive the Manpower year at least...

Also if you do get dropped, if you're brought back within 6 weeks then your time will continue, so you don't start the year again.

What's the take home pay a week when you are on the 3 shift system at Solihull? If starting on the 19th of August. What's shift pattern would I most likely end up on? When is the next shut down?

£381 take home on 3 shifts.

Chances are you will be on straight days in D7A and the next shut down is 24th December after the summer.

Just got back from my pre assessment at Solihull:-
    Photo taken
    Uniform size measured up
Did a little English and maths test
    Filled in some health questionnaires
Had a breathalyser and hearing test

For the people who have completed pera training I was given a sheet to write some notes on about corporal punishment, just wanted to ask what what did you lot write on there and where can you get the answers from please, thank you
  • Had my pre employment aswell today at 16:00 at Solihull,
my mind went blank doing the english test as I could only find 2 mis-spelt words not the 3 they were after(putting it down to tiredness, been up since 04:45 this morning) I'm normally pretty good at this sort of thing lol

LOL the mis spelt words were professional, draft and envelope, but these tests don't matter much that's what the guy said manpower and JLR don't see the results they only designed so they know how much support each individual needs, unless he blagged it to me :D
