I see I start on the 9th is it still shut down then ? And a couple of my pals that work at castle brom think we might end up in the new press building ? Any truth in that ?

No shut down is for this week only !

And I doubt it matey as said above, you will more than likely be covering people who might be moving to solihull what with the new launch and all. Then again I don't work at castle brom so I don't know

    Afternoon all,

I'm trying to figure out what manpower are doing with start dates as I hear the new plant will not be ready until September. Any of the guys that are on the line know where the new starters are being assigned as like many ppl on here been waiting a long time.

hi is it actually worth the hassle of joining jaguar if they supposedly only take a few of the applicants on full time.im in full time work and have a mortgage, any suggestions,go for it or play it safe, what is the realistic probability of me getting a jlr contract if im punctual and work hard.out of 100%.

Very likely if I'm honest, it's a matter of getting on with it and doing it.

Also the new building will be running in July apparently running at 50% the majority of people joining now will be holiday cover I believe with a view to moving to D7A

I started in October 2012, all of that and the intakes around then have been taken on, unless due to absence/punctuality/disciplinary issues.

Unless things have changed, as far as I know know, if you are given a 12 month pavement with Manpower then, if you keep your nose clean you will get your JLR STC after 12 months then full time after another 12 months.

There are some on 12 week placements who don't know what is happening after the main summer shutdown and have been told to wait and see if they hear from Manpower during the holiday. If they don't hear anything then to report to work as normal.

I think a good indicator is if you do the Pera training as it cost quite a lot to put people through it.

(Just to reiterate, this is my own personal experience/interpretation of things and should not in any way be taken as gospel truth and used solely to make life changing decisions ;))

I had a call last week from Manpower at site in Solihull basically just a courtesy call to let me know they hadn't forgotten about me. Nothing firm to be honest.
