  • Hi all, my first post but been reading through this thread as I've gone through the application process myself and I've found it very helpful. Had my final interview on Monday at the pfl building in Halewood. Felt it went well, no rejection email yesterday as seems to be the norm so just the dreaded wait now!

Any questions feel free to ask?

I start at castle brom on 9th June with 24 others looking forward to it is it true it will be going to 3 shifts soon and is there much overtime available ?

Not as much O/T at CB as at Solihull. There is some production O/T planned in June and leading to the summer shut down and maybe more after. Where I am O/T is generally just a few people doing cleaning/painting etc and maybe bits of production if needed.

The whole plant is planned to be on 3 shifts by 2017 but as far as I know there are no changes for the rest of the (fiscal) year.

We had a union brief last night and it was very positive.

Solihull is just on a different pace level compared to castle brom ! It's called the mad house for a reason ! I know 40 people started training at Solihull today if that helps

Are you sure? I just asked someone and they told me no one has started today. Just now there is 2 GL's in pera and one group of new starters in pera as well. The new group look to be back fill and not for the new track

Is the new track at Solihull still being built? Is that maybe why we are waiting?

That explains why we are all waiting so long ! Don't know why manpower couldn't tell us that is the reason, it's been quite frustrating being told you've got a job but not starting..... Hopefully not long now then. Cheers for the info Memy! 😁
