thank you for the info richardD1970,what my main concern is is coming out of a job and ending up with no job but as u say work hard and punctuality i should be ok.the job im in is dead end, going nowhere fast, are there promotions from within at jlr,or do they source candidates from outside,i want to work my way up u see.if you dont mind me asking what do u actually pick up weekly for the first year then second, being nosey now,

There are always internal vacancies for Group Leaders and opportunities to progress if the desire is there.

Not sure on the 70% (I was lucky and get in at 80%) but I think the hourly rate is around £10.75 plus after 12 weeks you get £30pw attendance allowance.

Maybe one of the newer starters on 70% could clarify?

I currently take home £475 on 80% nights (33% shift allowance). Come October when I (hopefully ;)) get my full time contact that will go up to £525.

Difficult decision as you are already in a job, mine was a lot easier as had just been made redundant, although I had applied before that and would have moved anyway.

    Good luck whatever you decide.
