Has anyone attended manual assessment at Halewood, had email to confirm succesful & had or still for an awaiting interview date?
    Waiting game!!!

    I'm in the same boat.
I recieved an email on lst May to say that I passed the manual tests on the 28th April at Halewood, and they'll be in touch if I'm selected for the next stage etc (but obviously that was 19 days ago).

Can anyone confirm if you're invited to the interview by email or by phone, because I've just gone and lost my phone a few days ago, so I may need to contact them with a new number.
(I would assume it will be via email though).

Additionally, can anyone shed any more light on what specific questions you get asked at the interview ?

Cheers and good luck to everyone in the same boat.

..... I just called Manpower (using my wifes phone) and they said that they have been trying to contact me - (so obviously there's answer to my question about wether they invite you for interview by phone etc).

I passed the manual assessement and attended an interview yesterday at Halewood, this also involved a drugs test.

I was contacted mid last week via telephone to confirm a time and a date. May be worth giving them a call, I was told interviews would be all this week with training looking to start within 3-4 weeks.

I've got my interview next Tuesday.

    - can you tell me what specific questions they asked you during the interview ?
  • It starts off with basic background questions you cant really prepare for, then it moves on to competency based ones. Things like:

How would you get to work

What are the implications of lateness

What can you do to ensure you arrive for work on time every day

Discuss a time when you have worked with someone from a different background

Discuss a time when you have undertaken a repetitive task

Discuss a time when when you have faced opposition to a suggestion you have made

So just have examples of various situations already in your head. Use the STAR model and you cant go wrong. It's quite informal, there was a number of other interviews going on in the same room which was a little off putting, but once you get into your stride you forget about the others

    Good Luck

Can I ask what number you called manpower on?
Did they tell you on the phone your interview details?
My Hubbie is thinking it's not great that he still hasn't an interview date despite succesful manual assessment email on 5th may.
    Good luck with your interview.

I'm at Castle Brom, been there 18 months.

Is it worth the money? Well if you can stick it out for the first year on 70% you then go up to 80%, which just as an example, I am doing permanent nights and last year (on 80%) earned £32,500 with only a small amount of overtime. Come October I will go up to 90% which will be another £50 per week, net.

What shift pattern you end up on will depend entirely on where you are placed, the same applies to job rotation, everyone is expected to be flexible and some sections will rotate and others not, or even certain people in a section will rotate or not.

To be honest, for the type of work it is there aren't many other places that can match it for pay.

I have very few negatives about working there, it can be hard work but if you keep your nose clean, turn up on time and don't take the mick then there is no reason that, after 2 years you won't have your full time contract on 90% (raising to a maximum of 95% at the moment).

There is massive development and investment in the company (at all sites) and see no reason to doubt the long term prospects of the company.
