I had my assessment back in February and still waiting, as far as I have found out it is now on a score basis, the higher score you got through the process the quicker you get called. It is frustrating when you are waiting for a call, but all you get told is there will pass details onto a consultant who will contact when there have start dates.

It would be good if Manpower would say how many people are waiting and what is the process regarding training to give those waiting an idea instead of watching the phone. or is that just me?

Hi Guys im still in the same boat as some of you, still waiting on the call but iv got to say Manpower frustrate the hell out of me. I had my passed all stages in mid Feb have phoned them a few times only to be fobbed off with the starting dates excuse also had the email the other day.
Anyway i rang them today to see whats going on and to update my phone number, the guy told me that they had stopped recruiting and there are no new start dates as of yet he also would'nt take my new number, said he could'nt because recruitment has stopped STRANGE.
Told me to phone back in a few weeks said im on the priority list whatever that is, i also got told this in March when i called them. Im getting fed up with them so iv applied for the skilled trades with Jag Land Rover Hopefully there will be less messing about going to them directly.

Anyway congrats if you have a start date and good luck.

Hey guys. I did my assessment and interview way back in feb, and got a call yesterday to start at Solihull Tues 21st. I'm more than made up obviously, so if like me you've been hoping for a call for months, sit tight because to be honest, I'd pretty much written it off and was more than pleasantly surprised when they rang.
    Best of luck everyone.

    Kerri
    Hi Kerri.
This is what gets my goat mate. When I asked about the new start dates a month ago, I had a phonecall back from Manpower saying, the last new starter was due to start mid April? They said the usual tosh, "we will keep you updated on your application", and then I had an email 3/4 days ago saying, Manpower were still waiting for confirmation on new dates??? Yet you have been given a start date, congratulations by the way:D Rant over lol

Kerri may have been lucky and just being called in to infill for someone who has left, there will be a constant turn over of a few people as some new starters will leave/get dismissed.

The problem is that we know there are more jobs in the pipeline, we have been told in the summer, but Manpower can't say anything officially or give any dates until they get the nod from JLR.

It's frustrating I know, but there is nothing to be gained by getting worked up about it, keep in touch with Manpower, but keep it polite and professional, try not to let your frustration show through.
Good luck to everyone still waiting. ;)

Thanks for the info mate! I do know about the summer recruitment already, July I think they said? I have always tried to be polite and professional but, I also think it depends on who you talk to at Manpower. Some of them don't help you with anything and, just fob you off. But, I have also spoke to a couple of guys there who have actually helped and gave me useful info. Agreed, its very frustrating mate!!!:(
  • Well thats the first week of mornings done out the way doing nights next week for the first time should be fun LOL:D:D;)Ive only been doing spraying for a week & im getting into it already & loving it & the guys i work with are a great bunch to which makes it so much better to get on & do your job:D:D:D

I have been told the same thing about the scores mate and, I was told it also depends on what skills you have which JLR can use?? When I finished my assessments, I left the centre, not knowing how I had done. Guess I didn't do as well as those who had the call but, I did well enough for Manpower to keep in touch with me. I don't think they would ever tell us where we are on list but, I am quietly confident we will all get a chance at some point!! :D Keep your chin up mate:cool:

Yeah there is. There's no car parking onsite - that's at birmingham airport with a coach laid on, but there's parking for push bikes and motorbikes so that's definitely your best bet

    Congrats man!

Just a couple question: When was your interview and did you keep in contact with them since the interview? (Calling / emailing manpower etc)

    Thanks!
