"If you take part in the survey from home, you should post your items in a Post Box anywhere within your postcode area. This is any Post Box with a Post Box ID that begins with the first letter(s) of your postcode." - from the FAQ.
This surprised me - I'd always assumed that you were restricted to quite a small area.
Taken literally, the answer to the FAQ above means that anyone, for example, living and posting in NR25 (Holt) could post anywhere in the NR postcode area, which would include places 40 miles away - and in a different county!
If it said 'first letters and numbers', rather than 'first letters', of the postcode, that would at least restrict it to a relatively small area. I'm loathe to take this up with them, because it could be very useful on occasion, but has anyone widened their area like this? And has it caused any problems?

Unfortunately I live right in the middle of 2 postcode areas, (M and WA) so I can't actually use some of the postboxes nearest to me which is rather annoying.0 -

I used to think the same, but never had a problem. My local postcode area covers 3 counties.0 -

I've just started with the survey. Is there any benefit to registering numerous post boxes in your area?0
