Screwfix has (at the moment) 10 and 20 litre cans, for less, I paid £19.99 for the 20.

Oh, and soon it may well be impossible to buy anything from anywhere else, due to the stranglehold they have.
    Wow!
    I didn't know that.

So not only are Screwfix heading towards a total monopoly of the jerrycan market, but total control of everything else sold anywhere else?

    That is unbelievable.

Do you have a source for this information?

    ;)

FYI, filling that with petrol and storing it at home is illegal. You're only allowed 2 metal containers with a maximum of 10 litres in each.

ASDA used to be a farmer's co-operative, until Wal-Mart killed it.

    No they didn't.

Associated Dairies was purchased by Asquith stores (Asda) in 1968. Nothing to do with Walmart

    From one website...

You do not have to buy your jerrycan from Tesco, or anything else from them, for that matter.

Thanks but I don't need a dictionary to tell me what extortion means. But just for you...

    1.
The act or an instance of extorting.
    2. Illegal use of one's official position or powers to obtain property, funds, or patronage.
    3. An excessive or exorbitant charge.
    4. Something extorted.
You have been reading.....another magnificent post by garethgas
  • Do you think this time with the government ordering the army to step in will it have the same impact as the first fuel strike which brought the country then to a stop .

I have been noticing that Tesco pricing is rather dubious at the best of times. The way they use 2 for 1, BOGOFF etc to hide sometimes very substantial price rises.

Having said that the British public are not daft and Tesco's last set of results were pretty grim.

Around here we are fairly limited but I for one have voted with my feet for most things.
