I have said on more than one occasion, UW may benefit a small number of people who have never used a dual fuel scheme previously.
I have further clarified this by saying it is not the job of a UW salesperson to recommend other companies with cheaper tariffs, yet they often spoil this by claiming to be the cheapest. The "Triple Garuantee" is a prime example of this cleverly worded marketing BS.
A very much smaller (very rare) number of people would find UW cheaper than utilizing the best tariffs for their usage.
For a tiny minority of people who can recover the huge discrepancy in energy prices by spending a substantial amount via the cashback card it may also benefit them.
What I do find most disingenuous is people like vinny, making up weird usage figures for himself and exactly the same comparitive figures for "his clients" to give an example specific to almost no-one else in the country of how cheap they are. Then again that may be unfair on the rest of you, he's the only one proven to be a duplicitous liar.
Then we have carmine, the person who acts like a salesman but apparently is just a customer, he keeps throwing a challenge to find a cheaper deal but only ever gives a part of the info required to actually do a genuing comparison. To get his discount he has to spend £175pw, how do we know he can't buy the same shopping basket for 10% cheaper eleswhere.
All this cleverly worded marketing speil used by salespeople to show them as the cheapest/best or whatever the message of the day is just makes me think the worst.
What it all comes down to is this
People don't have to take gas and elecricity to benefit from the cashback card so any inclusion of the card is disingenuous when comparing energy prices.
I haven't made up the figures up and the figures for a friend a few weeks ago were different. So I haven't lied. You cannot come on here and make libellous or offensive claims. I suggest you retract that. I have never claimed that UWDC are for everyone and have stated that before. The AUWF members seem to think that there is never a case where a customer gets a good deal. I have shown that there are and have many years of experience.
You obviously have a dislike for UWDC for some reason and put things onto them. If you have issues then what has that got to do with us. What I don't understand is why you are on here in the first place and why you think you know more about how UWDC works than me. You don't. You have never even been a customer. Carmine has put you under question before.
I really do wonder why you are on here in the first place. You must admit, all I get is post after post of insinuating blurb from you. If that is all you can do, why don't you just go elsewhere and annoy someone else, this isn't the place for you if you cannot be civil.
I have been a long term customer with UWDC and chose to be a distributor because it proved to be good.Quentin's Cashback Card?

It states that if he is talking about British Gas then he should mention it, whatever is being discussed. When he does mention british gas he doesn't mention he is an employee.
When your deal with British Gas is up in April, who will you go with?
I have been a long term customer with UWDC and chose to be a distributor because it proved to be good.
Your inability to read, or understand what you have read, is incredible!
Martin states:The rules have always been simple, if you are engaged in a discussion where you work for a company involved, then you should mention it. However it shouldn't be in your signature as it is only for relevant posts.
That is sensible.
There are at least 4 BG employees the post on MSE. On those occasions where BG is being discussed, if they contribute to that discussion they always declare that they are BG employees. However IIRC their posts are always to inform about some aspect of BG's tariffs etc; in fact I have never seen a post where they have praised BG.
With regard to what tariff I will use from May 2010, I haven't a clue as I have no idea what will be availbale at that time. You and the Troll have a huge interest in my future tariff choices.
Unless UW reduce their gas and electricity tariff by over £600 pa for my consumption, I can confirm they will not have my custom.
However as you are aware I have a annex with separate gas and electricty that uses tiny amounts of electricity and little gas.
I am toying with the idea of getting Ebico for gas, and UW for electricity.
I use approx 200kWh pa electricity in this annex.
Now according to energyhelpline if I go NPower on their 'Go Save; tariff the electricity cost would be £29.30pa. However their total discounts would be £31.50 so they would be paying me £2.20pa for allowing them to supply me with electricity.
UW would cost £47pa. However they would supply me with their excellent cashback card.
So spending just over £1,000 a year on the card would mean that I would break even.
Decisions decisions!;)0 -

this isn't the place for you if you cannot be civil.
As for civility, that was given until you started your God bothering tripe on me. Then you compounded it by saying I my birth was a waste and that I should go to burn in hell. I don;t believe I have anything to be worried, but you do think so, so don;t start your innocent bs asking for civility. Enough people suggested you should apologise for your disgusting comments but as usual you choose to ignore what others have written and come up with answers to your own questions.
As said before I pity you, you don't even realise what you are. No insinuation in sight, you are a disgrace to your religion.
Now stick to the subject of the thread, UW and there very high energy prices.

A little reminder, the rules for posting on this thread!!
This is a special area for the discussion of Utility Warehouse (Telecom Plus). Unfortunately, it has become the topic for heated debate in the past and detracted from the main gas & electricity discussions. Therefore I would like to keep in restricted to just this discussion.
However due to past experiences some strict rules
i. All Telecom Plus Distributers must declare it when they post
ii. All workers or those related to other utility companies must declare it
iii. There are to be no abusive comments, accusations of fraud.
iv. Anyone breaking the above rules will be barred first of all from this board, and if they persist from the Chat Forums
I hate having to be so draconian, yet this problem has lasted for more than a year. So it is time to sort it out.
My basic view on Utility Warehouse is contained within this article
For general, non-UW, discussions on gas & electricity click here
And Please I know there are two very polemic views on Utility Warehouse going to be expressed in this thread. Please do not libel anyone. Treat those with opposing arguments with respect, even though you disagree and please try and avoid personal remarks. I live in hope!
I just noticed this what you said
'Unless UW reduce their gas and electricity tariff by over £600 pa for my consumption, I can confirm they will have my custom.'
I guess you meant I can confirm they won't have my custom.
and also
'I am toying with the idea of getting Ebico for gas, and UW for electricity.'
and get this
'UW would cost £47pa. However they would supply me with their excellent cashback card.'
Crikey, we won't be able to call you the AUWF anymore then.
What a turn up.

Jannienew,
Martin's further advice was much later that that you have quoted.
However if you feel that Swanjon's contributions constitute 'abuse' then as Martin states:If anyone has a problem with the fact someone is posting and appears to be touting for business or misleading then as always there is NO need to react to it - simply e-mail abuse@moneysavingexpert.com.
With all of the transgressions in this thread, do you really feel that Swanjon's posts are abuse?
He could register in another name if he wished. Look at the angry and completly biased poster on this thread who pretends to not even be a UW customer let alone a UW salesman - not a word from fellow UW ID about him.
Look at the activities of carespress?
In your quote from Martin is this statement:please try and avoid personal remarks
Whilst many of us have been guilty of that offence, it is the UW faction that are desperate to divert the discussion from UW prices and onto the personal circumstances of anyone who dares to point out the truth about UW prices.0 -
The main site rules also ask people to declare an interest.
"FORUM USERS’ OPINIONS DO NOT CONSTITUTE ADVICE
Forum users are asked to make it clear if discussing a topic they have professional knowledge of that they work in that field (but do not tout for business). However, please do not give advice. This is particularly (but not only) relevant on the Pure Money, Health, Old Style, In My Home and Is It Fair? Boards.

But given the original post is some four years old perhaps MSE could up date it, to include his basic view on Utility Warehouse which seems to have got lost in time.0 -

What will Quentin say to this.
It only goes to show that I am fair and balanced in my approach toward UW.
Clearly UW have very expensive gas and electricity, and you have to pay a monthly fee to join the UW club(to get overcharged)
However I suspect that Quentin might agree with me that there is a case for those customers with an annual electricity consumption of 200kWh per year or less to at least consider UW if they shop at the stores that accept the UW card and can accept the conditions on the card.
Of course they should get their gas, broadband, telephone and mobile from other suppliers and not UW. As there is no point in paying over the top.
Do I get a UW mini now?0 -

I didn't start on you Kippen Noedel you started on me when you stated this in post #9191.
'How do you reconcile yourself to a religion that was founded on fratricide & incest and has so many contradictions at it's core............ I bet I know the answer to that one...........'
Now to get this straight I find that offensive as would any other Christian. The point being is that you make posts in order to get at people.
You then went forward to criticise many times my Christianity with your questions. This isn't the place for putting my faith in question or me for that matter. I tried to be civil with you but I have just had post after post of abuse. Now you try to blame me.
I have not lied as I have already pointed out. You have proved nothing as you claim.
If you have a problem with God or Christianity, as I have said before, why bring me into that with your questioning. All I have done is question your ability to question and criticise me or God. Now you say I am at fault for pointing that out to you. So what you are saying is that I am not allowed to either defend myself or point out that I might find what you say offensive. You seem to think I have to simply take your insults.
You also took what I have said out of context and completely change it's meaning for I have never said those things you state. I have already explained that twice. You are merely now trying to divert this to me.
I still question your motives for being on here in the first place, you bring nothing positive just insults, abuse, libel. For that matter I have no problem with God and am happy being Christian because for me it makes sense, it is not your position to criticise that.
It seems you are not willing to discuss. I don't need to be put under question from you. I don't need religious persecution. I don't have to defend my position against you. I don't have to have insult after insult thrown at me. You obviously never see yourself as being in the wrong.

It doesn't really matter on that Cardew, you have made my day. You are not as AUWF as you say you are.
The express day is in April 2010 so we will see what happens then. UWDC keep adding new stuff.
If I moved my energy away from UWDC I would be a minimum of £240 worse off. That is 40% higher than I am currently paying with UWDC. My energy usage is a lot higher than 200kwhs.
I have been a long term customer with UWDC and chose to be a distributor because it proved to be good.
You have to do a bit more to get a mini though. I could just see you sat in one of the UWDC mini's though. They are too small for me, I would have to drive it with the sunroof open. It would look like a noddy car.Quentin's Cashback Card?
