Well if he qualifies as Laurel and Hardy wouldn’t you say Carespress and yourself qualify as Jekyll and Hyde?

I actually totally agree with your last sentence, though. I'm just surprised it's taken you so long to come to that conclusion - I haven't accepted a word of what you claim since the very beginning. I do recall you once giving me advice regarding an alternative satellite supplier that was actually illegal. Smart. Not.
PS There are plenty of examples of the deals I have taken advantage of with my UW card in this thread, the latest being only a page or so back. Feel free to have a look at them and try and beat the deal. But you remind me very much of the poster you seem to wade into this thread to try and save all the time when he digs himself into a hole - all hot air and bluster and useless when it comes to actually backing up your claims. Laurel and Hardy, as I call you.
Please post a link to all of these supposed claims of fortune that I have made. Yes I did post about a holiday I was taking, making a comment that I could afford the holiday because I wasn't throwing my money way by being a UW energy customer.
As for the "alternate" satellite service you know full well that was not a serious suggestion.
I don't know why you are fixated on my financial status, even more so than my ex-wife. You are a strange person
If you want a real comparison on your bills please post all the details. That will then allow people to carry out a full comparison. Give all the details, not just part of them.0 -
Nobody is disputing that attractive discounts can be obtained with the UW card.
It is just that you would be crazy to pay UW hundreds of pounds more for your gas and electricity to get the card when you can get the card with just one service.
It would be the easiest thing in the world to accept and beat Carmine's challenge. Save £hundreds a year on his gas and electricity by getting it from a cheap supplier and just get Broadband and phone from UW.
Then the discounts from the £9,000 pa(yes Nine thousand pounds per year) he has to spend in the shops that accept the UW to make his challenge work would be applied to the Broadband account.
However when that is pointed out, we get the usual disingenous rubbish about not getting some inclusive phone calls. The fact that he can get them on Skype or plenty of other means is ignored.
Then the thread is diverted away from the cental issue(which of course is the intent!) of the indisputable fact the UW charge just about the highest prices in UK for gas and electricity. £hundreds a year than the cheapest supplier for most people.
Despite the protests, none of the UW apologists have come up with a single issue where the Guardian article has got facts incorrect.
In fact it is only myself who has pointed out that the article underestimated, at a mere 20%, just how much extra UW charge for their gas and electricity.0 -

There is one person on here who has disputed the attractive discounts you can receive if you use the UW card, in fact this person advised me to not use the UW card and to use an alternative one instead! (No details have yet been provided though!) I have searched and no other card comes close to offering me the kind of cashback I am currently receiving from UW (£42.00 this month!):heart2: Newborn Thread Member :heart2:

I know exactly how the company operates in detail. I would not do it if I didn't believe it were not ethically run.
We have all seen the uw "ethical" way of doing things by viewing the training videos.
eg. New recruits are encouraged to sign up their friends by conning them into believing they are in need of help over a problem at work, and could the friend help them out by letting them do some "practice" - when in fact they intend signing them up during the practice session:
http://www.networkerplus.co.uk/support/videos/practice-appointment-shannon-griffin.html
And now they have embarked on new training for reps on how to get round your friends' objections to signing up. In particular a survey has shown the main objections are:
1) How much are you going to save me?
To get round this they are told to print off the savings calculator from the uw website for their friend's address. (This amazing calculator shows me I can save £880 (excluding membership fee!) if I join and have a card, or £630 if I decline the card!). They are told to take the print out to their friend and he can't argue you won't save him any money! (Ethical +++ or maybe just an out and out con????)
2) We won't be able to get discount because we don't use Sainsbury's.
The reps are now told not to even mention having to shop at Sainsburys, but to ask "how much do you spend on food and fuel"? Then say to their friend "just carry on with your normal shopping and you can get 5% off your bills". (Note they haven't let on to their friend they need to actually use Sainsburys!)
And vinny sees this as ethical behaviour between friends!
Then they put it on the net for all to hear (they must be so proud of their ethics):

So Quentin advised against using the card, I thought that was because of the unsecured nature of your funds. However it has been mentioned on the odd occasion that he apparently stated there was an alternative card;)
It is pretty sad when the only defence of UW's high prices is to attack an individual about a statement he made a year ago. Rather like the idiotic repeated references to French and Saunders.
My post conceded that the discount of the UW card is attractive but pointed out that it is not necessary to spend £hundreds more on gas and electricity to get the card.
In fact they could do exactly as you did and get cheaper energy by leaving UW and yet retaining the card.
Hope all is progressing smoothly with you? and I don't mean gas and electricity!0 -

Unfortunately the networkerplus links don't work - even the old ones.
You are prompted to sign on with passwords.
Obviously they find it highly embarrassing for their sales techniques to be shown.
Can't you put them on youtube?0 -
Maybe at long last they (unlike vinny) agree showing their director Shannon teaching how to take advantage of a friendship is pretty low and is better kept behind closed doors!
This is how they proudly introduce this "ethical" training video:Here's another video that demonstrates Group Director, Shannon Griffin booking a 'practice appointment', no doubt with a view to signing up a multi-service customer for at least four services, because that's what the top distributors do.
=====================================================================================Can't you put them on youtube?
They put them on you tube themselves!
eg The original gullible Spanish Teachers signing up to the business within 24 hours of taking every service:

Yes Quentin advised against using the card. Do you think that is good advice for somebody like me who utilises the card very well? And it wasn't a year ago that he suggested that, probably a few months ago. Lots of advice given on this web-site is excellent, but I think that Quentin's obvious hatred of all things UW is skewering his view of the cashback card. You have admitted to not liking how the company operate, but you can see the benefits to using the card if you shop at the stores listed! If there truely is a better card out there that suits my needs, I would love to know about it!
Things are progressing smoothly thank you, countdown to the big day has begun!:heart2: Newborn Thread Member :heart2:
